Open to kids 8-18 years old who have a love for rodeo and promoting the western way of life. Our focus is on sportsmanship, personal growth, and horsemanship.
The Redding Junior Rodeo Association (RJRA) is an organization dedicated to promoting the love of rodeo and Western heritage among youth in Redding, California, and surrounding areas. The association provides a fun, family-friendly environment where members come together to not only participate in the annual Redding Rodeo but to participate in various clinics such as roping, public speaking, horsemanship, etc. Members also participate in local parades, Play Days at the Rodeo Grounds, team building activities and community service driven programs. The organization encourages non-riders and riders of all skill levels to participate, fostering a supportive community for building confidence, resilience, and lifelong friendships. RJRA is open to kids between the ages of 8-18 years old. You do not need to own a horse to belong to the club...just a love for horses and the sport of rodeo!

What a wonderful day celebrating Suzie Smith's heavenly birthday with the Redding Jr Rodeo Association family and RJ Smith! One of Suzie's passions was working with kids. I believe she was looking down upon us in the new arena with a big smile.

Our first ever Movie Night in the Arena was a success and so much fun!! Such a wonderful turn out. Tonight’s movie pick was the classic, The Sandlot. Pizza, popcorn, candy and blankets…we’ll definitely be doing this again!

First meeting of the new year was a good one! Lots of exciting announcements, future plans and some new faces. Also, congrats to Addi and Tynlee on receiving their buckles for being last year’s Outstanding Member and Member of the year.

It's time for the RJRA first meeting of the 2026- 2027 year. Come and join us on Aug. 11th and see what exciting new events are planned for this year. You will also want to sign -up for the drill team and learn about their upcoming activities.

The RJRA had a great time at the Redding Rodeo grounds snack bar. Thank you to the NSBRA barrel race for allowing us the opportunity to raise funds for our Events and Activities program.
