20 Years. 20 Stories. 20 Weeks. 💛
For 20 years, Francis Court has been more than a place to live. It has been a place where families can find stability, support, hope, and the opportunity to build a new future.
As we celebrate 20 years of Francis Court, we’re sharing 20 stories over 20 weeks from families whose journeys have been a part of ours.
Here is one of those stories:
Prior to moving into faithworks, we were in a drug treatment program which is actually where Nick and I met. I had been in my addiction for 20 years, and so was he. I had just got my youngest at the time back from the system and was able to get more custody of my other son. After some sober time, we were blessed to move into Faithworks. I was able to move in first, and then Nick joined a couple of months later.

There, we gained living skills that we really needed to learn and practice. We developed a deeper relationship with the Lord and our careers began. Our life was finally looking “normal”. We needed that extra accountability and stability that the outside world would not have been able to provide for us.

Learning how to maintain children, jobs, sobriety, a household, and a healthy relationship in a safe environment, helped us become the people we are today. We are so grateful for our lives today. We both have over 6 years sober. We both have amazing careers today, a roof over our heads, cars that we own, healthy children. We were able to move into a rental with the two boys and then we were able to bring his two boys home for the first time in about 10 years. Just like that our family doubled over night. Then a tragic accident took my mother’s life and our world fell apart, we maintained our sobriety and had that solid foundation that FaithWorks helped us build. They never left our side. When that accident happened, we were out of work for a while and our financials were tight. FaithWorks stepped in and assisted us with our rent and utilities to help us maintain our housing.

Today, we now have five beautiful amazing boys that are ours. We have all of our kids, full time. We are saving money to buy our own home. We have our cars paid off in full. We have a “normal” life that we didn’t really know existed.

Thank you FaithWorks for helping to guide us, love us, and never doubting us. We have the most beautiful, chaotic, crazy, loving life today and you were a huge part in our story.-Jasmin-

💚 20 Years. 20 Weeks. 20 Stories. 💚
For 20 years, FaithWorks has had the privilege of walking alongside families as they work toward stability, healing, and a brighter future.
Over 20 weeks, we are sharing 20 stories from families who have been part of Francis Court throughout the years in their words.

“Before entering FaithWorks, my kids had been placed with my father (their grandfather) as I completed rehab and entered into sober living environments and eventually transitional housing. Before FaithWorks, I was in a sober living environment. I was on probation and had just begun my journey going to school to become a medical assistant at Institute of Technology.
FaithWorks allowed my family to be reunited and have our own apartment, something that I never even knew would be possible again due to the path I had taken. FaithWorks opened doors for my family, providing stability and support throughout our stay.
After leaving FaithWorks, my kids lost their father to su***de, but we have continued to be blessed as a family. Today, my family has a house and reliable transportation. I have a job that I love, and I just recently graduated from Shasta College in May with an Associate degree in Business.
FaithWorks was a door opener for all the bigger blessings that followed.” -Chenyce-

We especially love this year’s theme, ANCHOR OF HOPE, inspired by Hebrews 6:19–20. What a beautiful reminder that our hope in Christ is steadfast and secure. ⚓️🙏

We are so grateful for the work you do and the hope you bring to so many lives. God bless you all! ❤️

20 Years. 20 Weeks. 20 Stories. ❤️
Celebrating 20 years of Francis Court and the lives changed along the way.

My journey began in 2012, when my life reached rock bottom. My child had been removed from my care, I had another baby on the way, and I knew that something had to change. I had reached a place where I could no longer continue living the way I had been living. I had to make a choice not only for myself, but for my children and the future I wanted us to have.

That choice led me to the Good News Rescue Mission. Entering the program became one of the most important turning points in my recovery. Over the next 24 months, I began transforming my life. I gained the tools I needed to become successful, learned how to make healthier choices, and began replacing old, destructive habits with new, productive ones. The process was not easy, but it taught me the value of accountability, perseverance, structure, and hope.

Before leaving the program, I was reunited with my son, who had been only six months old when he was removed from my care. Being able to have my child returned to me was one of the greatest blessings and accomplishments of my life. After my Children and Family Services case was successfully closed and I completed the Good News Rescue Mission program, I transitioned into FaithWorks.

FaithWorks became another essential part of my journey. The program provided me with continued stability while helping me gain additional tools, knowledge, resources, and life skills. It gave me a safe place to continue growing and helped prepare me to become the responsible and productive adult and the mother I am today. FaithWorks was not simply a place for me to stay; it became a stepping stone toward independence and the future I had once believed might never be possible.

The years since graduating have not always been smooth sailing. There have been trials, hardships, unexpected losses, and many moments when I wanted to throw my hands in the air and give up. But the foundation I built through recovery, the Good News Rescue Mission, and FaithWorks taught me how to keep moving forward, even when the road became difficult.

After graduating from FaithWorks, I began working toward goals that once seemed completely out of reach. I worked on rebuilding my credit, creating stability for my family, and saving toward the dream of becoming a homeowner.

In December 2024, just seven days before Christmas, my children and I purchased our very first home.

Standing in that home with my children was about so much more than receiving a set of keys. Those keys represented every hard decision, every difficult day, every lesson learned, and every time I chose to keep going. They represented recovery, reunification, stability, perseverance, and the promise of a new life for my family.

When I look back at the woman who entered the Good News Rescue Mission in 2012, I see someone who was broken but not beyond healing. When I look at my life today, I see proof of what can happen when someone is given the tools, support, resources, and opportunity to rebuild.

FaithWorks played a significant role in helping me create the life I have today. I will always be grateful for the foundation it provided and for the people who believed in my ability to become more than my past. My story is a reminder that recovery is possible, families can be restored, and even after reaching rock bottom, it is still possible to build a future filled with purpose, stability, and hope.
