A warm welcome to everyone who attended Exothermic's Orientation Day! We're so glad to see new faces and returning members as well. Here's to another great new competition season to all of our teams!

We're proud to announce that the Ignite the Northwest Signature Event will be coming back for another year! Open to all teams worldwide, we can't wait to host another amazing tournament and are looking forward to seeing familiar faces and newcomers alike. Dates, location, and more information coming soon. Time to start working on those robots!

This past weekend, our organization sent 5 teams across the border to compete at WPRA's Season Opener.

From our high school division, 10G ended qualifications as first seed, with an impressive 5-1 record. They picked 96Z as their alliance and was undefeated in elims, coming home with Exothermic's first TC AND Excellence award of the year. They also ended 6th place in skills. Congratulations, 10G!

4 middle school teams also went: 938F, X, Y, and Z. Teams Y and Z were both able to make it to semifinals, while team X went to quarterfinals. Z was 4th place in skills, an impressive rank for a middle school team in a blended tournament, and brought home the Innovate Award! Good job to all teams!

Exothermic Greenish-Yellow Highlighter

This past month, our organization competed in two Signature Events: Mall of America hosted by the University of North Dakota, and The Silk Road Link hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Our teams performed exceptionally and we are so proud of their hard work!

10B, 10G, and 10K went to MOA. 10B ranked #6 after qualification matches and picked 11V as their alliance partner, and made it to quarterfinals before being knocked out. 10K and 10B both had great skills scores, ranking 11th and 12th respectively. Great job to our high school teams!

938Z traveled to China for the Silk Road Link, a new Signature Event added this year. They ranked 18th after qualification matches, was picked by 3296X, and played in the round of 16 in their division. Impressively, they won the Build Award for engineering a clean and durable robot, and strong notebook documentation. Congratulations to our middle school team!

We are so excited and grateful to share that Exothermic Robptics has been accepted to XTool's 1% for the Makers program, a milestone for our organization that has allowed us to receive a brand new P3 laser cutter. Our teams have already begun testing and using this new tool, especially for precisely manufacturing polycarbonate parts on their robots. We cannot wait to see the possibilities that this new technology holds for us in the future and to integrate this more fully into our programs and our students' education! Thank you so much to XTool and this wonderful opportunity!

We had an amazing time meeting everyone at Anandamela 2026! Thank you to all the parents and kids who visited our booth and talked to us. It was lovely to see how much fun the kids were having while playing the little robotics challenge we set up! Over the course of 2 days, we talked to over 180 families about our organization and what we do. Through this event, we hope to inspire a love for robotics in many new young students. We are so excited to see familiar faces again at our Open House on 8/30 at 2pm!

Over the weekend, eight Exothermic Robotics teams competed at the Washington State Regional Championships.

10W kicked things off on night one with a 94-point autonomous run, setting themselves up for a 200+ skills score the following day—securing their spot at Worlds. 10F, a freshman team, debuted their brand-new lever and proved exactly why they were so successful in middle school. 10K, fresh off their Worlds qualification at Pikes Peak, competed with a black-and-gold lever and advanced all the way to the quarterfinals before falling to the team that is currently the skills worlds record holder, 47874J.

Their elimination alliance partner, 10P, delivered an impressive skills performance to earn their own Worlds qualification, and capped off their run by winning the Create Award. 10Z and 10Y also performed well, with 10Z making it to eliminations before being knocked out.

Meanwhile, 10W, 10B (previously 938Z), and 10C dominated the competition, reminding everyone why all three teams made it to the Dome at Worlds last year.

10C (formerly 66475C), known as “Ex Machina: Rush, Jame, S, P, S2, NoLegDay, and Vivian” or just Ex Machina, demonstrated their consistency and excellence by capturing another Tournament Champion title, adding to an already impressive list of accolades and preparing for a three-peat dome appearance.

10W, already holding multiple awards—including a Signature Event Division Champion title—teamed up with the #1 seed alliance, 77277C, and advanced to the semifinals before narrowly losing to the powerhouse duo of 10B and 10C.

Finally, 10B, a freshman team with an astonishing record—already five-time Worlds qualified with three Signature Event Tournament Champion titles and two Signature Event Excellence Awards—secured their 6th, 7th, and 8th Worlds qualifications at States. They double crowned with the Skills Champion title and Tournament Champion title in addition to the Amaze Award, finishing their season with over 15 different awards.

At Worlds, the neon green 10 isn’t just showing up, we’re here to dominate.
