Working cats seeking employment! 🐈

Are you in need of some eco-friendly pest control? Looking for a companion around your ranch, warehouse, or property? We have great news! There are plenty of cats at BrightSide right now looking for the opportunity to show off their working skills! 😼

Visit our website to view our Barn Buddy candidates, like Puma here! Each cat’s bio will designate if they are a Barn Buddy and any other details we know about these industrious felines. All you need to provide a home to a Barn Buddy is consistent access to food, water, shelter, and of course space for them to do what they do best - work! Our staff will happily walk you through all that you need to know to welcome your newest employee. So come to the shelter this week to explore candidates and make your newest hire! 🐾

We’re so excited to be part of Fred Meyer & QFC’s HOWL-OWEEN Pet Food Drive this October! 🎃🐾 Throughout the month, you can help support BrightSide and local pets in need by picking up an extra bag of food, pet supply, or toy while you shop at the Bend Fred Meyer at 61535 South Highway 97. Just drop your donation in our collection bin on your way out! Every donation helps a pet in need. Thank you!🧡

Fall looks good on you Kodi! 🎃

2-year-old Kodi is dying to find a family of his own to go on all of life’s adventures with. But in the meantime, he’ll happily settle for a Dog Day Out! His most recent outing included so many of his favorite things - a long walk, fetching in the river, enjoying a pup cup, and joining his buddies for errands. In Kodi’s opinion, any time spent with his people is the perfect day! And according to his report card, the feeling was mutual:

“Kodi is the perfect mix of energy and calm. He loves the water and will fetch the ball as many times as you will throw it, but then he is ready for a nap in the car. He loved meeting new people and was really good with kids. He is truly a gentle giant who wants to be near you at all times. He is honestly perfect and I wish I could keep him.”

Sound like your kind of dog? We agree! Come meet Kodi at the shelter today to see for yourself! Or if you’re not able to adopt, Kodi is also looking for a foster home to get a break from shelter life. Submit a foster application through our website to learn more about his foster needs and decide if you could give Kodi a place to crash while he awaits his forever family 🧡

👑 Meet Madeline 👑
Madeline is a 4-year-old Siamese who is just as gorgeous and regal, as she is particular on who she lets into her space. She will critique her visitors by ruthless standards and you will know, without a doubt, where you stand with her majesty. If she decides you’ve earned a place in her court, then you get the reward of seeing her playful and affectionate sides. If not, she will kindly (or not so kindly) ask you exit with haste. For someone she deems worthy and who will respect her boundaries, we are confident Madeline will make a lovely companion and ruler of your kingdom. So for all you Siamese lovers out there - come visit the shelter this weekend and see if our queen chooses you to be her lucky servant ✨

🍃 Happy Fall from BrightSide! 🍃
For our team here at the shelter, the arrival of October not only brings beautiful fall weather. It also means we’ve closed out yet another busy quarter. As you might know, this summer gifted us with an extra long, extra heavy kitten season and we are just starting to see the light at the end of the kitten-filled tunnel. But this summer also presented us with many opportunities to show up for other pets in our community who needed us as well. To say our team has been running at top speed the last few months would be an understatement. But we are fortunate to have a team of staff, volunteers, and fosters willing to put in the hard work to fulfill our mission, and a community who supports us the whole way! And what we all love most is creating brighter futures for as many pets and people as we can. So please join us in celebrating a quarter that’s been filled with long days, but so many lives saved 🐾

If you would like to help jumpstart our final quarter of the year, please visit our website to donate: www.brightsideanimals.org/donate/. These contributions are what make this kind of impact possible, and each one means the world to us 💛

Our Kuranda beds have definitely been well loved by our shelter dogs and we’re in need of some replacements! If you would like to help a shelter dog have a cozy spot to rest while they wait for their family, you can donate a Kuranda bed directly to our shelter by visiting our wishlist at: https://shelterbeds.org/donate/34898

Thank you! Our dogs will put them to very good use!
