On-demand bike lockers are available! You can find them at two new locations along the Redmond Central Connector in Downtown Redmond: 164th Avenue NE and NE 76th Street, and at 161st Avenue NE and Bear Creek Parkway.

On-demand bike lockers are available at two new locations along the Redmond Central Connector in Downtown Redmond: 164th Avenue NE and NE 76th Street, and at 161st Avenue NE and Bear Creek Parkway. These lockers provide secure bicycle parking for five cents per hour and a convenient place to store your bike while exploring Downtown.

Access the lockers by signing up for a BikeLink account, which also provides access to existing bike lockers at transit centers throughout the region, including Sound Transit light rail stations, the Redmond Transit Center, and the Bear Creek Park & Ride. The new lockers in Downtown Redmond are a one-year pilot program and were made possible through one-time funding from both the Experience Redmond tourism program, funded by lodging taxes, and the Go Redmond fund.

Join us tomorrow, September 17th, for an open house to ask questions and give feedback on two upcoming projects in Overlake that help to build shared-use paths that connect to the Redmond Technology Station.

Join us this week for an open house to ask questions or share feedback on two upcoming projects in the Overlake neighborhood to build shared-use paths connecting to the Redmond Technology Station. Both the NE 40th St. Shared Use Path and 156th Ave. NE Shared Use Path projects are planned for 2027 and will build 12-foot-wide pedestrian, bicycle, and ADA accessible paths with landscaped planter strips and street trees. These projects will create safer, more connected routes for people walking and biking while supporting sustainability, accessibility, and tree preservation. The open house will take place from 5 – 7 p.m. on Sept. 17 at Cascade View Neighborhood Park.

RedLink’s service area now includes the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village, the Woodbridge neighborhood in Southeast Redmond, up to NE 104th Street on Education Hill, including Hartman Park and the Redmond Pool!

We are excited to expand our RedLink service area to include the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village, the Woodbridge neighborhood in Southeast Redmond, up to NE 104th Street on Education Hill, including Hartman Park and the Redmond Pool!

We also created a Shared Parking Program for individuals to park in designated areas within RedLink’s service area, request the RedLink service, and ride to light rail or other locations. To start this program, the City partnered with the Redmond Assembly of God church on Education Hill, where a limited number of parking spaces will be available for use during RedLink business hours. Parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and space is limited. Individuals who park in spaces not identified by RedLink shared parking signs will be towed at the owner’s expense.

With school starting Monday, Aug. 31, please remember Washington State laws regarding school bus stop signs and flashing warning lights. Know when you’re required to stop, slow down, and stay alert around school buses and students.

As more residents choose electric bikes, or e-bikes, for commuting and recreation, it's important to know the difference between e-bikes and e-motorcycles. E-bikes typically come in three classes, with Class 3 bikes providing assistance up to 28 mph. It's illegal for those under the age of 16 to operate a Class 3 e-bike in Washington state.

E-motorcycles typically provide assistance over 28 mph, have a power output greater than 750 watts, and do not have fully operable pedals. A driver's license and proper insurance are required to ride an e-motorcycle in Washington state.

Still not sure which type of bike you have? Consider visiting knowyourride.org, a youth-led initiative helping educate families on e-bike and e-motorcycle safety in Washington state. The Bike Check tool allows users to enter a bike's characteristics and offers guidance on the type of bike it may be.
