Project Baseline increases awareness about the health of 70+ marine and freshwater environments in 27+ countries. www.projectbaseline.org

Project Baseline is a marine and freshwater conservation initiative started in 2009 by the charitable, not-for-profit organization Global Underwater Explorers (GUE). Project Baseline is at the forefront of increasing awareness about the health of 70+ marine and freshwater environments world-wide. The organizationโ€™s mission is embodied by each volunteer run chapter, or projects, that establish environmental baselines for our world's aquatic environments and publicize their condition in manners that inspire the public to demand and support effective protection. The collection of underwater and surface observations (over 1,500 images) are publicly available in Project Baseline's spatial database - projectbaseline.org/database.

Our teams are at the heart of everything we do. Most are advanced divers who have turned their passion into a purpose, documenting the underwater environments they know best through repeat visits and long-term monitoring.

Many work independently, choosing their sites and setting their goals. But the real magic happens when they connect with local conservation groups and scientists to amplify impact through collaboration.
