This September, we take a moment to recognize the millions of individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

Behind every diagnosis is a person with a lifetime of memories, stories, relationships, and experiences. And behind every person living with dementia is a family, caregiver, and community providing love, patience, and support. 💜

At Visiting Angels, we believe caring for someone with dementia means seeing the **person—not just the diagnosis.** It means meeting them where they are, celebrating the moments of connection, and helping families navigate the journey with compassion and dignity.

100 years old and has been part of our Visiting Angels family for 12 wonderful years. ❤️
Just imagine all that M has witnessed in her lifetime:

✨ The Civil Rights Movement

✨ Countless changes in medicine, technology, transportation, and daily life

From black-and-white television to streaming services, from rotary phones to smartphones, M has experienced a century of history, resilience, innovation, and memories.

M, your wisdom, strength, and stories are a gift to everyone around you. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey for the past 12 years. We are honored to celebrate this incredible milestone with you.

🍝❤️ **Family Recipe Spotlight: Classic Homemade Lasagna** ❤️🍝

There's nothing quite like the smell of homemade lasagna baking in the oven. It's comfort food at its finest and the perfect meal to bring family and friends together around the table.

# # # 🛒 Ingredients

* 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
* 1 small onion, diced
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 24 oz pasta sauce
* 9 lasagna noodles, cooked
* 15 oz ricotta cheese
* 1 egg
* 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
* ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
* 1 tsp Italian seasoning
* Salt & pepper to taste
* Fresh parsley (optional)

# # # 👩‍🍳 Directions

1️⃣ Preheat oven to **375°F**.
2️⃣ Brown the meat with the onion and garlic. Drain excess grease and stir in the pasta sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
3️⃣ In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
4️⃣ In a 9x13 baking dish, layer:

* Meat sauce
* Lasagna noodles
* Ricotta mixture
* Mozzarella cheese

Repeat the layers, finishing with sauce and a generous layer of mozzarella and Parmesan on top.

5️⃣ Cover with foil and bake for **30 minutes**. Remove the foil and bake another **15–20 minutes**, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6️⃣ Let the lasagna rest for **10–15 minutes** before serving.

🥗 Serve with garlic bread, a fresh salad, and your favorite people!

Parents may not have all the answers, but they somehow always know when you've done something you shouldn't have. 😅
