July feels like the best time to get real about money. After starting to track where your money goes, it can be eye-opening to see how quickly little things add up — coffee runs, little shopping trips, and online splurges. Set a simple budget for yourself and stick to it.

Even putting aside $20 a week will make you feel more secure, and it adds up quicker
than you would think. Don’t get sucked into every summer sale—making a list before
shopping will keep you from buying random things you don’t need. It’s not always easy, but having control over your money will make you feel more independent and less stressed. Little changes now feel like a big win for the future.
