This week on Pop Rocks Radio — The Boys are our featured artist. London punk's most underrated band, and yes, we know about the Christmas records.
New music from Roger Joseph Manning Jr., Woolworthy, Doghouse Rose, and Lex Bauman, plus classics from Vibeke Saugestad, The Undertones, and Sugarbomb. Doghouse Rose even has a track called "The Boys," which we did not plan but absolutely take credit for.
Movie of the Week: Slade in Flame (1975). Slade play a fictional band called Flame, and the whole thing is a bleak, cynical, warts-and-all takedown of the music business. It confused everybody in 1975 but was later referred to as the Citizen Kane of British pop movies. We're ok with that.

They came together in London out of the wreckage of the London SS and the Hollywood Brats.
By January 1977 they were one of the only British punk bands with an album deal — right after EMI dropped the Pistols.
And every December they rearranged two letters in their name and put out Christmas records under fake names like Kid Vicious and H.J. Bedwetter.

Movie of the Week: The One Man Beatles (2009). An Italian director crosses the ocean to find a forgotten American genius. What he finds is complicated, heartbreaking, and completely fascinating.
