The second event was kidney stones. For the first time in my life I experienced kidney stones. The pain was beyond something that I can put into words. But even with all that pain, I was suffering because I knew an ER trip would be over $5,000. I had a $6,000 deductible. I had insurance, I was in intense pain, but I could not afford to access my healthcare. When I shared these stories with other people, I realized they were running into the exact same situations. They all had healthcare but most of the time could not afford to use it. That is when I made a decision to start an agency and find affordable solutions for my family and my friends.
