Inland Empire HO Raceway

Finally found an armature for this black gen 2 Dash chassis. It’s sporting a Blizzard top plate, 18 ohm typhoon armature, black dragon magnets, stock Dash top plate gears. The drive has a Dash cluster shaft and pinion pushing a Wizzard crown gear that was mounted on a coated titanium axle. Wizzard brushes, pickup shoes and brushes transfer the power to the armature.

Picking out an armature for this chassis. I got it running super smoothly using a Dash Blizzard top plate in a second gen Dash chassis. But wasn’t happy with the speed. Found an 18+ ohm typhoon that sounds happy and a 16 ohm Dash, but it’s just a tad more slow. I’ll finish picking this one out after work.

Started work on this black Dash gen 2 chassis with a delrin/moly top plate. I used the stock Dash top plate gears from the Halloween Havoc chassis. I’ll be lining up my Wizzard crown gear just right to space it to keep the alignment perfect with the stock Dash drive pinion.

Here are a few views of the pickup shoe set up. Having the right set up guarantees constant predictability in the power band through the most technical sections of the track.

Last pictures of the Halloween 🎃 machine. It’s headed to the Halloween Havoc as a race prize. I was doing my last task, prepping, profiling and limiting travel of the pickup shoes before mailing this to Dave Lockwood. I eeked some more powere output and dropped amps drawn from this chassis. It will run well with the Caddy body on it.

Thinking of sending the black Caddy to the Havoc to accompany the yellow Dash gen 2 chassis. This is a nice canvas for a holiday theme. Whoever wins this gets an RTR HO scale slot car. 🚙
