↔️ Dining Services is expanding its mobile ordering program to include FREE delivery from the Barn during business hours. Food will be delivered via golf cart anywhere on campus.

🍨 The Scoops Ice Cream Shop is expanding its hours and menu. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday through Friday, a breakfast acai-focused option will be available. The menu includes two different acai flavors, granola, a variety of fruits, and toppings like honey, peanut butter, and almond butter.

🥤 At the Student Success Center, Dining Services will open Scotty’s Go, a self-service store selling a variety of grab-and-go food and drinks. In addition to the typical candy, chips, and sodas, the store will include items such as pre-made sandwiches, ramen cups, and frozen meals. A microwave and hot water will be available for customer use.

🎶 The Barn’s fall concert series will begin in October with a show every week through November including Halloween-themed events such as a screening of the film “Halloween Town” and a concert by the Mismiths.

🆕 The Lothian Residential Restaurant was remodeled this summer with new lighting, paint, wood flooring and, modern tables and chairs. There is an enhanced pizza menu, expanded sushi offerings, and a larger dessert area.

Giants of Chicano film, literature to headline UCR event Two pioneering figures in Chicano cinema and literature will discuss their work and answer questions during the 38th annual Tomás Rivera Conference at the University of California, Riverside.

We did it again! 🐻🔝 U.S. News & World Report has named UC Riverside the No. 1 university in the nation for social mobility. UCR has ranked No. 1 in 6 of the 8 years since the social mobility category was established. This year, UCR tied for the top spot with Florida International University.

In its social mobility ranking, U.S. News aggregates two factors that assess the graduation rates of students who receive the Pell Grant, typically awarded to families earning less than $60,000 per year. The factors are Pell Grant graduation rates and Pell Grant graduation rate performance, which considers graduation rates among Pell Grant students vs. non-Pell students. About 48% of UCR’s undergraduates receive a Pell Grant.

UC Riverside doctoral student Sarah Schroeder named a genus of plant-feeding insects -- previously unknown to science -- after one of the biggest superstars on the planet: Taylor Swift. 💄🦗

Schroeder said she hopes that by naming these insects after Swift, both the insects as well as the concept of insect conservation will shine with a little of her reflected light.
