How We Use Prompting at ABAC π
Prompting isnβt one-size-fits-all! Every learner is different, which is why our prompting strategies are thoughtfully selected based on the individual, the skill being taught, and the level of support needed for success. π±
At ABAC, we focus on:
β¨ Individualizing support
π‘ Using meaningful prompts
π Using data to guide decisions
β³ Giving learners opportunities to respond
π Fading prompts intentionally
π± Keeping independence in mind
Prompting is a teaching toolβnot the end goal. Our goal is to provide the right support while creating opportunities for learners to build independence, confidence, and meaningful skills that extend beyond therapy. π

Prompting in ABAπ
Prompting is an important part of helping learners build new skills, increase success, and reduce frustration along the way! β¨
From gestural and verbal prompts to model, visual, and physical prompts, the type and level of support can be individualized based on the learner and the skill being taught.
The goal? More support β‘οΈ Less support β‘οΈ Independence! π
As skills develop, prompts can be gradually faded to give learners more opportunities to respond and succeed independently. πͺπ
