I was accused me being a "pan indigenous" person because I enjoy hunting, I make jewlery like every other artist, I enjoy wearing leather and furs or I wear moccasin boots that are seen more in Eastern woodland and plains cultures . Or they will say I don't do things that my people would traditionally do..but people fail to understand..I am an outdoorsman, I am a hunter. I was these things long before I decided to embrace my heritage. I am me. And if I wake up tomorrow not yoeme, not dine, I will still be me.

Had a fun day with the kiddos. We have been going crazy in the house!. I am finally able to walk without my cane. My stitches haven't fully healed yet but we getting there.

4 generations my family has lived here. My grandfather would call it our barrio, our town, our tribe. I have seen both the beauty and the horror of this community. Growing up here you had to be tough, sometimes a little too much. I had friends I would play in the street with...just for us to hit middle school and go on different paths. So many artists,, musicians, scientists, and many more talents that were lost due to gang violence and drug abuse. A community formed trying to survive the white man when we only had eachother. It will always be a love hate relationship for me. Overall. This place is where I started my roots, and will always have a place in my heart.

I have always been an outcast, a loner, and free thinker. I wasn't the one in the popular crowd. I didn't fit in with the chicano/mexican culture, since I was too indigenous..I didn't fit into the indigenous culture because I wasn't "native" enough. I've walked between the lines for so many years that I've slowly accepted that I may not belong anywhere. I say this with all my heart, I don't give a damn.

Made this long bow a while back, decided to string it up.

Some very exciting news! One of the bows I made is now in an art gallery for the lipan apache band!. I made this bow for my apache brother Joey a while back. He made the traditional quiver and he asked me to make him an accurate replica bow. I never expected it would later be donated to the lipan apache band to show case our art!. This is a huge confidence booster for me. Even tho I am not apache, it was an honor to still have my art in your display, ah'o

Same warrior, 13 years apart. It shows me how far I've come in my bow making journey. If I could speak to my younger self I would tell them Do what you love, do what makes you feel joy. Hold onto your passions, be who you are, not what people tell you to be. Out of all my childhood passions that I let slip away..I am thankful I held onto bow making.
