When our M.A.I.T. (Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team) is called out to the scene, they use specialized tools and technology, including drones, to capture a bird's-eye view of the crash scene and document evidence such as tire friction marks, vehicle resting positions, debris, roadway conditions, and other important measurements.
Through training, technology, and attention to detail, the California Highway Patrol works to ensure every crash investigation is thorough, accurate, and focused on keeping California's roadways safer. 🚧
The California Highway Patrol extends our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of those who lost their lives in Tuesday evening's tragic helicopter crash in Chatsworth.
We mourn the loss of photojournalist Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw, and Edy Gutierrez Mejia who was on the ground. Our hearts are with everyone impacted by this heartbreaking tragedy, including our partners and friends in the news media community.
During this difficult time, we stand with the families and loved ones as they grieve these devastating losses.
