Few things confirm an industry has crossed a threshold like a week that delivers a world record and a new qualification standard in the same seven days.
140,000 home batteries powered the California grid at 580 megawatts during a heat wave. The largest residential virtual power plant event ever recorded.
The same week, NVIDIA released its AI factory qualification list for battery storage.
The market has hundreds of BESS suppliers. Three made the list.
The connected energy industry did not ask for this moment.
It built toward it.
This week's AMPED Energy Intel covers both stories and three more. Link: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/energy-buildout-just-entered-its-execution-era-amped-intel-3kcuc

Installing the charger is becoming the beginning of the job.
OBE Power just secured new investment from North Sky Capital to expand its EV charging network across the United States and Canada.
But the interesting part isn't only the expansion.
OBE's model extends beyond deployment into network operations, maintenance, repairs and driver support.
That's where this industry is heading.
As thousands more chargers are deployed at apartments, hotels, healthcare facilities and commercial properties, somebody has to keep them working.
Commissioning.
Diagnostics.
Preventive maintenance.
Troubleshooting.
Repair.
Return to service.
Infrastructure investment creates infrastructure.
Uptime requires people, which makes EVSE diagnostics and field-service capability increasingly valuable for the electricians and technicians already working in the field.
The installation may be a project.
Keeping it operational is a service line.
The dealership is changing. So is the workforce behind it.
SkillFusion was at Digital Dealer in Detroit today because the future of automotive retail extends well beyond the showroom.
EVs bring charging infrastructure, connected systems, new service opportunities and an entirely new layer of technical knowledge into the dealership ecosystem.
That transition requires people who understand what comes next.
We’re building them.

30 megawatts of new truck-charging capacity.
Forum Mobility is adding 4 new electric-truck charging depots in California, with Tesla operating public Megacharging sites at three of them.
These aren't ordinary charging stations. The sites will support Megawatt Charging System (MCS) and CCS charging, bringing together high-power electrical infrastructure, communications, power management, diagnostics and fleet operations.
This is where EV charging is going.
For experienced electricians and field technicians, that's worth paying attention to...
You already understand electrical systems. You already know what it means to troubleshoot equipment when something isn't working. You already have the field instincts that take years to develop.
As charging infrastructure moves into the megawatt era, those skills don't become obsolete. Actually, they become more valuable when you add EVSE.
The charger is getting bigger. So is the technician's toolbox.
Keep your experience. Add EVSE.
That's what our EDT Pathway is built for.

The connected home energy system is no longer a concept being tested in pilot programs. It is a commercial operating reality in Northern California. And it is coming to every major grid in the country behind it.
This week's AMPED Energy Intel connects five stories that prove the connected energy industry has moved well past the point of requiring anyone's permission to exist.

You didn’t spend years learning how systems work just to stop at the systems you already know.
If you’re already an electrician or field technician, EVSE doesn’t have to mean starting a new career.
It can mean adding another technical system to the one you’re already building.
Electrical fundamentals. Communications. Diagnostics. Preventive maintenance. Troubleshooting. Field service.
The SkillFusion EVSE Diagnostic Technician Pathway was built to take existing technical ability somewhere new.
Keep your experience. Add EVSE.
A bigger toolbox creates more places your skills can take you.

You already know how to work in the field.
Now add another system to your toolbox. EV charging infrastructure is becoming another piece of equipment that businesses, fleets and property owners need someone to understand when it stops working.
That creates an opportunity for electricians and experienced field technicians.
Not to start over. To build on what you already know.
The SkillFusion EVSE Diagnostic Technician Pathway develops practical skills across EVSE systems, communications, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
The people who already know how to diagnose problems have something this industry needs.
Experience.
Now add EVSE.

Not every broken charger needs a truck.
Some do. Some need a reset, a reseated connector, a network check, or a look at whether it's the unit or the upstream.
The problem is that today, most site teams can't tell which is which - so everything becomes the same phone call and the same wait.
Triage isn't repair. It's knowing what you're looking at, and being able to describe it accurately enough that whoever shows up brings the right part the first time.
That's a much smaller thing to learn than people assume.
Facilities teams: how often does the tech who arrives turn out to need a second visit?
Twenty-five years later, September 11 lives in two places: in the memory of those who witnessed it and in the history inherited by those born afterward.
The responsibility to remember now belongs to every generation.
We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost. We honor the first responders who ran toward danger. We hold close the survivors and families who carried the weight of that day, and those who answered the call in the years that followed.
Memory becomes legacy when one generation carries it forward.
September 11, 2001.
Lest we forget.

A charging station can have power and still fail the driver.m
The problem may be a communication breakdown, payment-system error, damaged connector, network issue, unresolved fault, or missed inspection.
Finding the cause requires someone who understands the full system.
SkillFusion’s EVSE Diagnostic Technician pathway prepares people for that work through three progressive stages:
* EDT1 builds fluency in EVSE equipment, safety, software, codes, standards, commissioning, and maintenance.
* EDT2 focuses on communication systems and protocols, including OCPP, OCPI, ISO 15118, J1772, remote monitoring, cybersecurity, and payment systems.
* EDT3 moves into field service with structured charger inspections, diagnostic testing, preventive maintenance, damage response, and procedures for safely restoring equipment to service.
The result is a technician who can assess the charger, document the problem, complete appropriate field-level work, and recognize when a licensed electrician or another specialist is required.
Charger uptime depends on people who know where to look.
