The toughest part of restoration work? Waiting patiently for the results! 💪🌱
After several years of invasive species removal at Golden Preserve, we're starting to see the rewards: native blue-eyed grass and yellow star grass were spotted popping up across the preserve! A small reassurance that while the hard work isn't over, it certainly pays off!
At this year's garlic mustard pull at Drayton Plains Nature Center a volunteer discovered a huge population of native Jack-in-the-pulpit! A win for nature!🤗 Thank you to and for helping us protect the !

Sometimes the Nature Near You is so close we almost trip over it! This fawn was discovered yesterday lying perfectly still and quiet at our new Woodhaven Preserve by Conservation and Stewardship Director Ian Ableson. Don't worry, it's not sick or injured--this fawn is just hiding from potential predators while waiting for mom to return. Once she's done feeding, she'll be back to nurse. If you see a fawn lying similarly still and quiet, have no fear. It's probably just waiting for mom!

We had such a great time participating in Connect Macomb's Community Impact Day! Volunteers helped us remove a bunch of woodchips from our protected wetland at Anchor Bay Woods Preserve to pave the way for one of our trails! Thank you so much to everyone who came out to help us protect the !
