Six Rivers helps private landowners permanently protect the natural and agricultural features of their land and assists public agencies in securing parks and nature preserves. From conservation easements donated by individuals to park additions purchased by local and State agencies, Six Rivers’ work helps keep Nature Near You. We are a private, non-profit conservation organization working with individuals and institutions who choose on a voluntary basis to protect land. Our work helps people fulfill their personal values for conservation and turn those values into permanent, measurable actions that benefit communities now and for future generations.

We partnered with to host a bat hike at the 26 Mile Rd. Nature Preserve and the bats didn't disappoint! We had a great time cultivating the next generation of bat lovers and teaching them how to spread their wings!🦇

Our friends with Lake St Clair CISMA will be participating in Festival in the Woods in Romeo on September 26th! Come check out some animal guests, live music, guided hikes, and the amazing work they've been doing to restore St. Paul's Woods!

We are so excited to recognize our first Native Garden Certified business, Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters for the beautiful native garden at their Ferndale location! They started their garden out in 2023 with around 8 different species and I can confirm the monarchs LOVE the blazing star!🦋 Thank you Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters for doing your part to protect the !

We're grateful to be a part of the Nonprofit Showcase for Faith Troy Church, MI's 'Here for Good' campaign with Connect Macomb! We were excited to highlight Turtle Woods right there in the community and chat with the other nonprofits out there doing amazing work!
Stepping into September, we are gearing up for our annual Trails and Treats hike on September 23rd! Join us for cider, donuts, and all the cozy fall vibes while taking a hike at one of our most magical fall preserves, Sutherland Nature Sanctuary! Sutherland Nature Sanctuary's boardwalk is making a comeback after starting restoration efforts earlier this winter! Thanks to a grant from Athletic Brewing Co, we were able to remove some shrubs that had taken over the wet meadow surrounding the boardwalk. The pollinators are loving all the native wildflowers that have popped up!🦋🐝
