Autism Spectrum Disorder is now estimated by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) to affect one in every 54 children, and is four times more likely to occur in boys than in girls. It is more prevalent than pediatric cancer, diabetes and AIDS combined. AutismUp (formerly known as UNYFEAT) is the area’s leading autism support organization. Founded in 2004, by a small group of parents of children with ASD, it has grown to over 2,700 members whose mission is to support individuals with ASD, and their families, by expanding and enhancing opportunities to improve quality of life. Program and Services: Social Skills and Readiness Skills Education; Supported Fitness and Recreation; Transition Planning; Person Centered Planning; iCan Bike Camp; Sensory Integration; Speaker Series; Professional Conferences; Autism Risk & Safety Management Training for First Responders; Family Navigation; Parent Support Groups; Special Interest Programs; Family Gatherings; Autism Training for the Community; Parent and Professional Member Message Boards; Scholarship and Financial Assistance Program.
From recipe to finished pie! In Full Life Academy’s adult baking class, participants follow each step, practice measuring and mixing, and create a pie to take home. It’s hands-on learning with a delicious result. 🥧

That bright green addition to the parking lot, next to the red shed, is our new AutismUp Can Shack! Bring your clean, rinsed NYS 5¢ deposit cans and bottles and drop them off anytime. Every nickel comes right back to AutismUp!
Please remember: All returnables go directly to the Can Shack, not inside the building.

Saturday mornings are moving at AutismUp! 💙💚
Special Olympics Young Athletes has a new home at AutismUp. Held in collaboration with Best Buddies NY and Special Olympics, this early childhood play program brings children with and without intellectual disabilities, ages 2 to 7, together to explore movement, develop physical and social skills, and learn through play.
Our gym is filled with activity, connection and plenty of smiles as children and parents participate together.

Every work of art begins with a first mark.
During the first Creative Arts class at Nazareth University, one guided prompt became a room full of different interpretations. Participants explored line, color and technique while bringing their own perspective to the page.
Creative Arts is offered through Full Life Academy at AutismUp.
Fitness with a purpose.
In Functional Fitness, Full Life Academy participants practice movements used in everyday life while building stamina, coordination, and body awareness.
Every movement offers another opportunity to learn, grow, and feel successful. 💚💙
