2026 Nitrate Picture Show passholders: we want to hear from you!

Audience survey invitations have been emailed to everyone who purchased a pass for the 10th Nitrate Picture Show. Your feedback will help the George Eastman Museum evaluate this year’s festival and plan future editions.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous unless you choose to provide your name or email address.

If you purchased a 2026 pass but did not receive a survey invitation, please email [email protected] with your name as it appeared on your pass, and we will provide access to the survey.

The concept of "home media" is not a recent idea! Before television, home video formats, and streaming brought movies into the home, devices like the Edison Home Kinetoscope offered an early way to watch films outside the theater. Marketed in the 1910s for schools, clubs, and well-to-do households, the hand-cranked machine projected compact 22mm films that could be rented or purchased, making it one of the earliest systems for home movie exhibition.
