Athletes were locked in this week, and it showed in everything they did.

Speed work, testing, and strength training, all dialed in.

This is the kind of week that builds real athletes, not just stronger ones.

Proud of this group. Keep stacking weeks like this and the results take care of themselves.

Your speed problem might not be speed.

It might be deceleration.

Poor deceleration leads to slow cuts, wasted steps, and weaker re-acceleration.

Elite athletes do not just produce force.

They absorb it.
Control it.
Redirect it.
Then explode.

Learn to stop.
Then explode.

Parents, if your athlete looks fast in a straight line but struggles to stop, cut, or change direction in games, this is exactly what they need to train.

DM “SPEED” and we’ll send you the details for PFP Sports Performance.

Sammy plays basketball, and that's exactly why he trains at PFP.

Skill gets built at practice. Speed and power get built here. Two different things, and most players only ever develop one.

Put them together and you get an athlete who's harder to guard and hard to keep up with.

Since training with us, Sammy's noticed real improvement in his speed and his vertical. Faster off the dribble, higher off the floor. Skill meeting power on the court.

That's the idea behind what we do.
We offer a 7-day free performance training trial so your athletes can improve their speed and vertical. DM "SPEED" for more info.

Want to get faster? You don't have to sprint every day.

Some of the biggest improvements in speed happen before you ever run a sprint.

Each exercise develops a different piece of the speed puzzle:
🏋️ Strength → Deadlifts build the force needed for powerful acceleration.

⚡ Power & Reactive Strength → Depth drops, hurdle jumps, and split squat jumps teach your body to absorb force and explode back into the ground.

🏃 Sprint Mechanics → Skips, A-skips, and wall switches reinforce the positions and rhythm needed for efficient sprinting.

At PFP, we don't just tell athletes to run faster—we help them build the strength, power, and mechanics that make speed possible.

Speed isn't just trained. It's built.

💬 Which of these exercises is your favorite?

Here’s one thing slowing athletes down:
Their first step is too soft.

A lot of athletes reach into their first step instead of pushing into speed.

That matters because acceleration starts with force into the ground.

Reach, and you lose power.

Push, and you drive your body forward.

That is why we coach athletes to push, not reach, using drills like falling starts, wall drives, and sled starts.

Win the first step.

Win the play.

Coaching creates confidence.

Anyone can hand an athlete a workout.

A coach teaches them how to move, how to adjust, how to clean up technique, and how to understand what they are doing.

Small corrections matter.

A better sprint position.
A stronger landing.
A cleaner lift.
A sharper first step.

Those details build better movement.

And better movement builds confidence.

Do not just train.

Train with purpose.

When the season starts, training is usually the first thing to go. But that's exactly when your athlete needs it most.

Here are 5 reasons to keep training in-season:

1. You hold onto your summer gains instead of losing them.
2. Games make you tired, not stronger. Strength comes from training.
3. Strong, resilient athletes get hurt less.
4. Keep training and you stay explosive when it counts, not fading by playoffs.
5. The season is months long. Stop, and that's months of development left on the table.

One or two focused sessions a week is all it takes to keep them strong, fast, and healthy while everyone else fades.

Comment ATHLETE and we'll get your athlete set for the season.

Another week, another recap.

Plyos.
Speed work.
Testing.

Not random drills.
Not just getting tired.

Training that helps athletes get faster, jump higher, move better, and compete with more confidence.

Great work this week, PFP.
