Rockwall Pest Control

🦗 DID YOU KNOW? 🦗 Your porch could be the hottest cricket hangout in the neighborhood! 😂

Here’s what attracts them—and how to make your home less inviting:

💡 DON’T BE THE BRIGHTEST HOUSE ON THE BLOCK! Field crickets are attracted to nighttime lighting, especially during their fall mating flights. Turn off unnecessary outdoor lights, shorten lighting schedules, and consider yellow “bug” bulbs near entryways. Less attraction means fewer unwanted guests!

🌧️ DROUGHT… THEN RAIN… THEN CRICKETS! Big cricket outbreaks often follow dry springs and summers, with activity increasing when rain and cooler weather arrive. That sudden crowd on your porch didn’t appear out of nowhere—the weather helped get them moving!

🎶 THAT CHIRPING IS A LOVE SONG. Male crickets chirp to attract females. Unfortunately, the one behind your couch doesn’t realize his 2 a.m. performance isn’t appreciated. 🤦🏼‍♂️

🚪 CLOSE DOWN THE ENTRANCE. Check door sweeps, garage-door seals, window screens, and gaps around your home. A brightly lit doorway with a gap underneath practically rolls out the welcome mat.

🍂 TAKE AWAY THEIR HIDEOUTS. Clear leaf piles, stacked debris, and thick vegetation away from your foundation. These provide daytime shelter for crickets.

🛡️ CONTROL TAKES TEAMWORK. Professional treatment can help reduce cricket numbers, but lighting changes and sealing entry points help keep new arrivals from replacing them.

LOOK FOR THE BLACK & GREEN!

🐜🕷️ We’ve been a little quiet on Facebook lately… but we’re still here! 🟢⚫

If you’ve noticed that we’ve been moving a little slower than usual lately, there’s a reason. I recently had an unexpected hospital visit that forced me to slow down a bit and pay attention to what my body was telling me.

I’m doing better and getting stronger every day, but for the time being I may not be moving at my normal 100-mph pace. 😂

We’re still out here taking care of our customers, answering the phones, scheduling appointments, and doing what we’ve been doing for 25 years — taking care of Rockwall County one home and business at a time.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while I get completely back up to speed. And especially to those of you who have checked on me or been patient when scheduling took a little longer than normal — thank you. It means more than you know.

Rockwall Pest Control isn’t going anywhere.

We may just be moving a little slower getting there right now. 😂💪

🎉 25 YEARS... AND THE BUGS STILL HAVEN'T LEARNED. 🪳😂
Today marks 25 years since I crawled under my first house, climbed into my first attic, and convinced myself this pest control thing might just work out.
That was July 1, 2001.
Since then, I've: 🕷️ Evicted millions of unwanted tenants. 🐀 Lost count of the crawl spaces I've squeezed through. 🥵 Survived more Texas attics than I care to remember. 🕸️ Had more conversations with spiders than most people have with their neighbors. 🐝 And I've confirmed one thing... wasps wake up every morning choosing violence.
After 25 years, I still love what I do (well... maybe not yellow jackets).
Thank you to everyone who's trusted me with your homes, businesses, referrals, and support over the years. Many of you have been with me for decades, and I don't take that for granted.
Now if you'll excuse me... I've got bugs that apparently didn't get the memo that I've been doing this for 25 years. 😎
Here's to the next chapter!

Rockwall Pest Control has a very important announcement 📣

Today is the birthday of the real MVP around here (Renee) — the woman who answers your calls, keeps the schedule straight, and somehow manages to stay patient even when things get crazy busy. 🎂

If you've ever called us and had a great experience, there's a good chance she deserves the credit. Give her a shoutout in the comments and help us wish her a Happy Birthday! 🎉❤️

🐜🕷️ Seeing more ants and spiders around your home lately?
You're not alone — this time of year, we start getting a lot of calls from Rockwall neighbors noticing exactly that. As the weather warms up, ants come marching in looking for food and water, and spiders follow right behind them (they go where the bugs are!).
The good news? Both are very treatable, and you don't have to just live with them.
At Rockwall Pest Control, we know this area and the pests that come with it. If you're seeing activity inside or outside your home, give us a call — we'll take care of it so you can enjoy your spring pest-free. 😊

🐜 Termite Swarmers Alert! 🐜

If you noticed winged insects flying around outside your home today, don't panic! We're seeing Eastern Subterranean Termite swarmers in the area — and if it's happening outdoors, this is completely normal environmental swarming behavior this time of year. Nothing to worry about! 😊

HOWEVER — if you've seen swarmers INSIDE your home, that's a different story and something you'll want to address right away. Indoor swarming can be a sign of an active termite colony nearby, and it's best not to wait on that!
