This may not look like it, but this steering wheel is going into a **1977 Pontiac Firebird** — a car with some personal history for us!
This particular wheel is a **Trans Am wheel** that was added to the Firebird, and the customer wanted us to take it a step further by adding **custom wood grain** to match the wood trim throughout the interior.
That detail is going to tie the entire interior together and make the steering wheel feel like it truly belongs in this '77 Firebird. 🔥

Take a look at this gorgeous **1966 Checker Cab** steering wheel!
This wheel came into CraftCustoms in pretty rough shape, with entire sections missing from both sides. Previous repairs had been attempted, but there was still a lot of work to bring it back properly.
We **rebuilt the missing sections**, restored the wheel, and changed the original black finish to a beautiful **maroon color** to perfectly complement the customer's burgundy interior.

Take a look at this **2020 Toyota RAV4** steering wheel!
We reupholstered it back to a **factory-new appearance**, while carefully preserving the factory heating element inside the wheel.
On heated steering wheels, the heating element is attached directly beneath the leather, so removing the original leather can damage the heating system. Instead, we carefully prepared the existing surface and installed the new leather over it — **and the heating element still works perfectly!** 🔥
One more tip: be careful with **hand sanitizer around leather**. The alcohol can damage the leather's protective topcoat over time.
Now this RAV4 has a fresh, clean steering wheel that looks like new!
