Our exploration-focused experiences are designed to spark curiosity, foster creativity, and introduce kids to the excitement of STEAM learning through play. Our unique Read. Move. Build. play methodology was born from a simple idea: kids learn best when stories, movement, and hands-on building come together. Bitty Builders was started by a mom and Architect who knows what it means to balance creativity, learning, and real life. With 15 years of experience designing buildings and a passion for child development, she set out to create a space where play is meaningful and fun. Every class, playgroup, and event is crafted to inspire confidence, problem-solving, and imagination in the youngest innovators. We keep things simple, hands-on, and joy-filled. Our activities are open-ended, use safe and age-appropriate materials, and leave plenty of space for kids to explore at their own pace. Parents love that it feels intentional, and kids love that it feels like play. Bitty Builders is about building thinkers, dreamers, and doers who see the world as something they can shape.

This apple c***r oobleck is taste safe and smells amazing.

I love making oobleck WITH my toddler, but this can definitely be prepped ahead of playtime too.
I’ll be honest, I eyeballed the ingredient ratios because I’ve made oobleck so many times, so I don’t have exact measurements.
Mix about a cup of cornstarch with one packet of instant apple c***r mix. Add about a half cup of water and mix.
The consistency should feel hard when squished and liquid when released.
If it’s too crumbly add a bit more water. If it’s too liquid add a bit more cornstarch.

I’m not saying you should skip work and take your toddler to Bass Pro Shops but I’m not NOT saying that.
Need 20 minutes of uninterrupted focus from your toddler?
Grab a block of ice and some warm water!
I froze a few small plastic toys in a water filled tray and gave my 3-year-old and 1-year-old squeeze bottles with warm water.
This is an incredible sensory activity that builds hand strength and fine motor control without buying a single new toy.
Thermal play and cause-and-effect setups are way more engaging for toddlers than static toys!
What’s your go-to low-prep activity when you need a quick win?
Those $60 sensory trays you’ve been seeing all over the interwebs are absolutely beautiful, but they aren’t your only option.
If you are looking for something just as functional, but a bit more budget conscious, head to your local garden store and look for some large heavy duty plastic plant saucers.
