You've written a great job description. The candidate is interested. They're ready to apply. And then... the posting just kind of ends. 😬
No clear next step. No instructions. They're left hunting for how to actually raise their hand.
Don't make them work for it. Tell them exactly what to do — apply here, email your resume, fill out this form, call this number. Whatever your process is, spell it out clearly.
And bonus points? Be upfront about what the hiring process looks like. Something like: "Our process includes a phone screen, one or two interviews, and a skills assessment. We aim to get back to all applicants within two weeks."
That kind of transparency is rare. And candidates will remember it.

Over 700 people across 19 Central Missouri counties. Healthcare training, CDL licenses, warehouse skills. Real careers on the other side.
That's what the EDA Good Jobs Challenge Grant made possible here in the Central Region — in partnership with Boone Health, Job Point, Moberly Area Community College, State Fair Community College, Clement Truck Driving Academy, and others.
We put together a video featuring the real stories of participants and the instructors and employers who helped make it happen. Worth a watch.

A new resource for job seekers is on the way. This week, the Central Workforce Development Region signed a lease with First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ (JCMO) to bring a Missouri Job Center back to Jefferson City after several years without one.
The new center will offer employment services, resume help, training, and apprenticeship opportunities for job seekers, along with hiring support for local employers. We are grateful for this partnership and look forward to opening our doors this fall.
