Verse of the day: Matthew 8:26.
Context:
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.
24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.
25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

"For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God."

Did you know Shorter used to be in a different location? "Old Shorter" was built on Shelton Hill (now known as Old Shorter Hill), which is one of Rome's seven hills. When it was founded in 1873, it was called Cherokee Baptist Female College. After Alfred and Martha Shorter's generous donation to the school in 1877, it was re-named Shorter college.
Shorter was moved to the present campus in 1910.

Happy Father's Day, Hawks!

This verse in context:
12 So then, brothers, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh,
13 for if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14 All those led by God's Spirit are God's sons.
15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father!"
16 The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God's children,
17 and if children, also heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ-seeing that we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
-Romans 8:12-17
