Last Friday, we had an absolutely incredible day on the Etowah River for our annual river float! A massive thank you to our amazing volunteers and fantastic partners,Keep Bartow Beautiful , Georgia Power , and , for making this cleanup such a huge success!
Together, our 40 volunteers pulled 635 pounds of trash out of the river! 🤯 From old TVs to a surprising number of basketballs and soccer balls, our teams stayed energized and had a blast hunting down the most "interesting" finds of the day.
The absolute best part? Seeing so many young faces out on the water, learning firsthand about our natural resources and what it takes to protect them. The future of the Etowah is looking bright!
💚 Thank you again to everyone who came out, got their hands dirty, and kept our waterways beautiful.💚

The countdown is officially ON! Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful is so excited to partner with Georgia Rivers for Paddle Georgia 2026!
On Friday, June 19th, paddlers will be taking to the water from the Ga. 156 boat ramp down to the Ga. 140 boat ramp for an epic river cleanup. We are proud to support this incredible effort to keep our waterways clean, clear, and beautiful—and we aren't doing it alone!
When the haul comes in, we are absolutely thrilled to partner with 180 Junk Removal and Dumpster Rentals , who are generously helping us keep our rivers clean by providing the dumpster!
Participants will be celebrating all the hard work at the Georgia Cumberland Academy, where the official cleanup awards will be presented!
They are going to show our rivers some major love.

A friendly reminder from the City of Rome, GA - Government to help keep our roads and waterways clean!
After mowing, please avoid blowing or leaving grass clippings in the road. Clippings can block storm drains, cause neighborhoods to flood, create slippery conditions, and end up polluting local waterways.
Let’s work together to keep our roadways and storm drains clear and clipping-free!
Grass clippings may seem harmless — until they clog a storm drain, contribute to flooding, or create slick road conditions for motorcycles and bicycles. 🌱🚲🏍️
As you mow this summer, please help keep Rome safe and clean by keeping grass clippings and yard debris out of the roadway.
✔ Blow clippings back into your yard
✔ Bag or mulch when possible
✔ Keep storm drains clear
A cleaner street helps protect our waterways, reduces flooding risks, and keeps everyone safer on the road.
Special thanks to Keep Rome-Floyd Beautiful for helping us spread the word 💚

We love our parks and trails! Don’t you!?
They give our community a place to support both mental and physical health, reconnect with nature, and enjoy time outdoors.💚
What we don’t love? Litter left along the trails. Fast food bags, trash, and dirty diapers take away from the beauty and safety of these spaces. 😵💫
Keeping our trails clean is simple: put waste in its place.
Let’s all do our part to protect and enjoy the amazing trail system we’re lucky to have.
