What we learned in Small Group this morning:

It was in the wilderness that Joshua was prepared for the promise. It was int eh wilderness where Joshua was prepared for his purpose. It was in the wilderness that Joshua was prepared to walk in God's power. It was in the wilderness where Joshua received the baton of leadership from Moses.

Remember: The wilderness is preparation.

It was true for Joshua, and it is true for you and me: God wants to prepare you for His promise. He wants to prepare you for your purpose. He wants to prepare you to walk in His power. He wants you to be ready when the baton is passed to you -- no matter what that baton is. It could be leadership; it could be opportunity; it could be a calling on your life. Like Joshua, you can be prepared by God in the wilderness for whatever He wants to do in and through your life.

Remember Isaiah 43:19. God says, "Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert." Even in the wilderness, He is here.
