Axis Companies

We're back with another member of the incredible team that makes Axis, Axis. Because great firms aren't just built by projects. They're built by the people behind them.

Meet Cristina Culbreth.

If you handed Cristina a free plane ticket, she'd be headed straight to Anguilla. Back at Axis, she considers herself the "keeper of the culture," helping create and capture the memories and moments that make our team who we are. Of everything she's helped bring to life, our annual videos are among her proudest creations.

What motivates her at work? Music. Preferably something good playing while she tackles her next deadline. And while some might be surprised to learn that her job involves actual work, Cristina assures us it's both fun AND essential. 😂

The best career advice she's ever received? "You have nothing to lose and everything to gain." A reminder to go after what you want in life.

Outside the office, Cristina enjoys concerts, boat days, weekend trips, MX racing, photography, and watching her kids discover hobbies of their own.

She also has a rather specific hidden talent: identifying most cars at night by their headlights and taillights alone. We're not entirely sure how she discovered that superpower, but we're impressed.

The little thing that makes her day better? Yapping. Her go-to fuel? A Lime Alani Nu. And if she had a walk-up song, it'd be "True Nature" by Jane's Addiction.

Built by people. Powered by personality. And always making sure the best Axis moments are worth remembering.

The temperatures may be dropping, but our appreciation for these folks certainly isn't! 🍂

Happy work anniversary to our October crew! Thanks for another year of hard work, great memories, and making Axis a pretty great place to be.

We're landing at our final destination! 🦉

Our fall career fair tour is coming to a close, but not before one last stop at Kennesaw State University's Marietta Campus for the Fall All-Disciplines Career Fair on October 1!

Owls, come find the Axis crew, say hello, and let's talk about what's next for YOU.

A very important company initiative took place today: the National Coffee Day coffee bar. ☕️

We’re excited to welcome Cindy Penn to the Axis team as our new Senior Planner!

With 13 years of experience in urban planning, Cindy brings a creative perspective and a passion for making everyday places worth exploring. At Axis, she’ll be supporting our municipal clients with comprehensive planning, zoning and development, and GIS mapping, helping communities navigate planning challenges and bring their visions to life.

What excites Cindy most about joining Axis? The opportunity to collaborate with a talented team on a variety of projects, turn complex planning challenges into clear, practical solutions, and discover what makes each community special beyond what’s on the map.

We’re thrilled to have Cindy on board and look forward to the creativity, experience, and fresh perspective she brings to the Axis team!

Preserving history. Engineering what's next. 🏛️

From a WWII-era classroom building in Douglas to the historic Barrington Hall in Roswell, Axis is putting our structural engineering expertise to work on two pieces of Georgia's history!

Our team, led by Patrick Kelly, P.E., is conducting an assessment of the WWII Classroom Building to evaluate its existing conditions and support the City's potential renovation plans. In Roswell, we'll be assessing Barrington Hall's front porch to help inform the property's future needs.

These projects reflect Axis's growing expertise in adaptive reuse and historic preservation. We're proud to help communities understand, maintain, and plan for the future of their historic structures!

Planning for what's next! 🏙️

Axis is headed to Augusta for the 2026 Georgia Planning Association Fall Conference! We're excited to connect with fellow industry professionals, exchange ideas, and explore the future of sustainable growth in Georgia.

Attending? Come find us!

Our Atlanta crew celebrated 10 years of Axis the best way we know how - a little friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and maybe a few people taking the games slightly too seriously.

A little photo dump from a night celebrating a pretty big milestone. 10 years down, plenty more to come!

Come find us at the SMPS Atlanta MEGA Meeting!

We’re looking forward to connecting with fellow AEC professionals for a conversation on The Leadership Gap & the Future of AEC Firms: Growth, M&A, and the Missing Middle.

If you’ll be there, keep an eye out for the Axis crew and come say hi!

We’re excited to welcome Rhonda to the Axis team as our new Architectural Project Designer!

With 32 years of experience, Rhonda brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in architectural design. At Axis, she’s already jumped in supporting our Spotless Car Wash projects and collaborating with the team to bring projects from design through completion.

What excites Rhonda most about joining Axis? In her words, being able to talk to “my people.” She’s looking forward to working alongside a team that speaks her language, sharing ideas, and putting her experience to work.

We’re thrilled to have Rhonda on board and look forward to all the knowledge and perspective she brings to the Axis team!
