The BEST financial decisions I've ever personally made didn't start with having a lot of money.

They started with changing my relationship with it.

Almost 13 years ago, I made a decision that helped change the way I looked at my financial future.

I committed roughly $100 a month to my very first tiny permanent life insurance policy to protect it, and I also tried to match that $100 towards a more volatile investment for greater risk/reward whenever I was financially able to.

Was that $100 going to make me rich? HECK NO.

But something happened.

I stopped looking at every dollar as money I could spend TODAY and started thinking about what those dollars could do for my FUTURE.

I became more disciplined.

I started thinking about protecting my income, family, building assets and creating options.

A little over a decade later, my financial needs and plans have evolved, and I surrendered that original starter policy and received approximately $25,000.

But here's the important part...

The greatest thing that policy gave me wasn't the payout as that was very minimal today.

It was the MINDSET during the entire process over this last decade+ that helped me build everything that came afterward. (Much larger cash value life insurance policies on myself, wife, and kids. Comprehensive Estate Planning, Real Estate, other Investments, Business, etc.)

And that's why I want to share 3 things I believe everyone should STOP doing:

1️⃣ STOP TRYING TO LOOK SUCCESSFUL.

The car, the clothes, the lifestyle... Nobody gives a p**p, and none of it matters if you're financially stressed trying to maintain it.

I like to use the 10x rule. If I want a car or a watch, or whatever, and I can't buy it 10 times with my net-worth, then I CANNOT afford it.

That may sound conservative, but that's just me and how I operate.

2️⃣ STOP TRADING YOUR FUTURE FOR TODAY.

Every dollar has a job. Before spending it, ask yourself whether that purchase is moving you closer to or further from the life you want.

3️⃣ STOP WAITING FOR THE PERFECT TIME.

You don't need to start with thousands of dollars.

You need to start building better habits with whatever resources you do have now.

Start with $100 if that's what you have. Build discipline. Increase your knowledge. Stay consistent.

Looking back, I wish I'd started even younger!

Because the greatest financial transformation of my life began long before I had a seven-figure net worth.

It began when I started taking my future seriously.

The BEST financial advice I personally ever received wasn't complicated.

It was 3 things:

1️⃣ CRUSH TOXIC DEBT.
Credit cards and high-interest loans can quietly destroy your cash flow.
For me, eliminating that debt was one of the most impactful financial moves I ever made.
And debt doesn't only charge interest…
The stress can steal your sleep, focus and peace too.

2️⃣ PROTECT YOUR INCOME.
Your income funds your entire life.
I learned not to depend solely on a job or government program to protect it.
Have a plan for the unexpected.

3️⃣ AUTOMATE SAVINGS.
I stopped saving “whatever was left” and started paying myself automatically.
Build reserves for emergencies AND opportunities. 💰

I was 27 when the lightbulb finally turned on.

By 29, I had become disciplined in all 3.

Over the years, I went from a negative net worth to building a 7-figure net worth.

Not overnight.
Not from one investment.
Not from some secret strategy.

It started with getting the FOUNDATION right. 🧱

My only regret?

I wish someone had taught me sooner, but it's never too late!

Vegas was special this week 🎰✈️

I got to spend real time in the field with our Vegas squad and do what I love most:

Building people!

Over the last few days with my Vegas team, I:

✅ Trained live small business drop-ins without sounding “salesy”
✅ Worked on how to properly secure second appointments
✅ Ran through in-home presentations
✅ Broke down communication, leadership, posture, and servant leadership in the field
✅ Ended it all with a great team dinner and welcomed 2 new business partners to the Vegas team 🙏🏻

One thing I will always believe is that leadership is not barking orders from a distance.

Leadership is being willing to get in the trenches with your people and show them exactly how it’s done.

And when I see people hungry, coachable, and serious about changing their lives, I will gladly get on a plane and pour into them personally.
