In Progress 30th Anniversary Screening

Join In Progress as we celebrate 30 years of digital storytelling with a special screening of short videos created by artists from throughout Minnesota.

The program will bring together stories created across generations and communities, including locally produced works such as The Harvest and Cries of the Children, alongside short films by professional filmmakers from the Twin Cities.

Following the screening, everyone is invited to gather for a community feast at Studio 110, located at 110 South Main Street.

Come celebrate three decades of creativity, storytelling, and community—and the artists whose work has made these 30 years possible.

Big congratulations to Azomali Obisakin as her film "TOO MUCH - a testimony of identity under threat". is an official selection for the My Hero International Film Festival. Her video addresses the recent surge in federal immigration practices in Minnesota and its impact on her as a teen growing up in Minnesota.

Please take a few minutes to watch this powerful video. Share it with others, Put it on social media and lets let her story reach a national and international audience.

Join us for an evening celebrating Fresh Voices, an exhibition of photographs and stories reflecting the lives, identities, and experiences of Latino community members in Crookston.

Come meet the artists and participants, experience the exhibit, and celebrate the people and stories that are part of Crookston’s community and history.

In Progress provides a variety of creative arts opportunities for K12 students that vary from short introductory sessions to multi-week partnerships. This fall, In Progress is especially proud to announce 3 new digital storytelling residencies with Saint Paul School's Flip Side Program featuring three talented teaching artists that will lead digital photography activities exploring portraiture as a tool for self-expression while learning all aspects of digital portraiture from . The program emphasizes creating media that respectfully and authentically honors each student’s identity. This year's teaching roster includes the three talented artist listed below:

The Winter of Our Resistance is an eight-part series featuring personal accounts from individuals of diverse cultural and community backgrounds who lived through the 2025–26 Metro Surge in Minnesota. Through intimate conversations,

Eight participants share their experiences of fear, uncertainty, resistance, and solidarity during a period marked by immigration enforcement, detainment, deportation, and widespread community unrest.

Each episode offers a distinct perspective on how this period affected individuals, families, and neighborhoods, revealing both the personal consequences of federal immigration enforcement and the ways communities came together to protect and support one another.

Together, these eight stories create an oral history of a defining moment in Minnesota, preserving the voices of those who lived through it and bearing witness to the courage, resilience, and collective action that emerged. We have provided these stories as both video and audio collections in hopes of reaching a wide ranging audience. Please listen and please share widely.

In Progress presents: Reflective Glass with artist Sai Thao 09/21/2026

Reflective Glass led by IP artist Sai Thao (https://in-progress.org/thao-sai-staff) , is a visual storytelling session that explores how images, sound, and lighting capture and convey emotions.

In this session, artist will examine how composition, framing, camera angles, lighting, movement, and sound work together to shape meaning and express emotion. Artist will apply these visual storytelling techniques to create a one-minute digital video that conveys a specific emotion through images, sound, and intentional cinematic choices.
