Today’s Supreme Court decision regarding transgender athletes in women’s sports is a painful reminder that access, belonging, and safety in sports are still being fought for.

At Cherry City Roller Derby, we believe roller derby is for everyone. Our sport has always been built on community, resilience, and making space for people who have been told they don’t belong.

To our trans and non-binary skaters, officials, volunteers, and fans: you belong here. You are valued here. You are part of our derby family.

We will continue working toward a league where people can show up as their full selves, find community, and experience the joy of this sport.

Derby is better when everyone gets to play. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Here's to an amazing life you're building together and the community behind you. You are incredible partners and fabulous friends to all who know you.

Sara had been planning this surprise proposal for nearly 6 months and chose the 4-year anniversary of their first date.

Salem's largest urban park. A borrowed tape deck. The ring from a local jewelers. Sara even made a custom bootleg tape of "It Only Takes a Moment" from WALL-E, the blank tape sourced from the local record store, too!
