Round and Round for 5K! The Merry-Go-Round Museum Whirlwind Racing Event
Lace up your… carousel horse? The Merry-Go-Round Museum is excited to host its second annual “5K Carousel Challenge,” a one-of-a-kind racing event where participants will complete a full 5K—without taking a single step!
Riders will hop on the museum’s historic carousel and spin their way to victory in this whimsical endurance event. The challenge? Staying in the saddle for the full 5 kilometers of continuous motion!
📅 Date: July 25, 2026
🎠 Start Times: 1 PM, 2 PM & 3 PM
💰 Entry Fee for 5K: $25 per rider
For younger riders, we’re also hosting a special “3K Carousel Cruise” just for kids (ages 6-14), with start time at 12:30 PM.
💰 Entry Fee for 3K: $15 per rider (ages 6-14)
🎟️ Event registration includes museum admission on the day of the event.

This is a fun and unique way to experience the magic of our carousel while also testing your endurance—no running required! Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, a carousel enthusiast, or just looking for a great Saturday activity, this event is sure to be a blast for all ages.
Spots are limited, so don’t wait to secure your ride! Horse sponsorships are also available for anyone that doesn’t want to ride.
