The seasons speak to us if we let them. They ask us to pause, to look around, to notice the change.
Autumn does this more than most.
Alexander Lawrence Posey was a Creek (Muscogee) poet born in Indian Territory in 1873, writing from a land his people had known intimately — and had been forcibly removed from decades before his birth. He wrote about the natural world with a tenderness that only comes from someone truly rooted in it.
His poem Autumn says everything we wanted to say about this season and couldn’t find the words for.
We are leaning into that feeling at Calnin House this season. Warm textures, earthy tones, pieces that make a home feel like somewhere worth staying.

At Calnin House, every piece we carry is chosen with intention, not just for how it looks, but for what it represents. Who made it. How it was made. Whether the people behind it were treated fairly and the earth was respected in the process. This is what conscious capitalism looks like in practice. Not charity, not compromise. Commerce that creates value all the way along the chain. From the artisan’s hands to your home.
We source from fair trade makers, small batch craftspeople, and found and vintage objects that carry stories from times past. We choose sustainability not as a trend but as a responsibility.

Mornings carry a little more cool, the impulse to nest returns, and home begins to feel like the right place to put your attention.
We have been gathering our favorites for the season ahead—pieces that bring warmth, texture, and a quiet sense of care to a room. A gentle refresh for the home you already love.
A little update from me.
After a wonderful season at Westside Market Roswell, we have made the decision to go in a different direction . We are so grateful for that community and for everyone who came out to visit us — the artists and vendors there are truly doing something special. We will be exclusively online for a little while.
We are ready for a new direction.
We are working toward a space of our own in the Sandy Springs and North Atlanta area — something considered, something intentional, something that feels like Calnin House from the moment you walk in.
We have a few options we are considering and are also open to a partnership! We will keep you posted as things progress.

Our Kattari duvet features a classic Japanese ikat, the resist-dyeing technique where yarns are bound and dyed before weaving, giving the pattern that soft, feathered edge ikat is known for. Here it comes through in a graphic, geometric crosshatch.
