Kylie and Justin’s beautiful wedding day began at the Grand Californian Hotel and ended at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway ✨ With soft lemon sorbet florals, an appearance from Chip & Dale, and even a custom-designed sticker vending machine by sticker vending machine by Amanda | Orange County, CA, their day was filled with so many thoughtful and special moments for their guests ❤️

I’m slowly easing back into sharing the beautiful weddings and events we’ve photographed over the past few months, and Savannah and Aaron’s Soarin’ themed wedding feels like the perfect place to start :)

The day ended with guests being escorted over to Soarin’ in Disney California Adventure, followed by a photo session in Grizzly Peak. It was a great night, and we may or may not have spent our Grizzly Peak adventure singing songs from Robin Hood. Don’t ask me why, sometimes these things just happen. Oo-de-lally, oo-de-lally, golly, what a day ❤️

This sweet girl was one of my first sessions back… ❤️

I’ve known Richard and Bonny for years, and if you’ve followed me ~ there’s a good chance you’ve seen Richard behind the scenes helping to make some kind of photo magic. It was comforting photographing the newest member of their family, even if I wished more than anything that Andrew could have been there with me...

When we did the session, I was also working on Andrew’s memorial, so I let Richard and Bonny know we’d need to work mostly with setups I already had in the studio. They requested Harry Potter ~ which was funny, because despite everything I’d just said about keeping things simple, I immediately thought of the Mandrake photo I’d been wanting to make for years ~ I guess no matter what’s going on, I can’t keep it simple…(p.s. that’s Richard’s arm in the Mandrake pic :)

So, I met Tiffany Perry at the studio, and we pulled out scarves and owls and wizard hats, and somehow this little magical world came together ❤️

The week before Andrew passed, he told me he wished he could do one more newborn session because they were so good for his soul. There is something about holding a brand-new little person. They’re these tiny reminders that life is beginning, all the time. Life is so hard and strange and beautiful that way.

Slowly finding my way back into it ~ thanks for being here ❤️
