A closer look at three details from Conduit of Bloom.
When I crop into a painting, I often discover a second life inside it. The full image may suggest a bloom, a stem, or a symbolic passage, but the details reveal something more intimate: a small sphere resting near the center, blue mineral-like textures, warm coral light, and thin organic lines moving upward like quiet signals.
In these close views, Conduit of Bloom becomes less about a literal flower and more about emergence — the way growth often begins as pressure, color, and movement beneath the surface.
For me, these details are where the painting breathes.

𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑖𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝐵𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑚 began with the feeling of something moving upward before it had a name.
The painting suggests a stem, a root, a vessel, maybe even a body — but it never settles into one image. That ambiguity is important to me. I wanted the form to feel like a channel between what is buried and what is beginning to appear.
The cool blues and mineral textures give the painting a grounded, almost stone-like atmosphere, while the violet, turquoise, green, coral, and warm orange passages evoke a sense of growth. It feels botanical, but also symbolic — a reminder that emergence often starts quietly, beneath the surface.
For me, Conduit of Bloom is about becoming visible slowly.

Still smiling after a wonderful, timeless afternoon in the rose gardens of the Santa Barbara Club for the Art Foundation of Santa Barbara's "An Artful Affair". It is always a privilege to exhibit alongside such a talented group of local artists, all while raising vital funds for regional youth art initiatives and heritage preservation.

Nature’s Nike feels to me like a painting about movement before it becomes a name.

There is a suggestion of a body, but also of a wing, a leaf, a stem, a dancer, something natural reaching upward. The title connects loosely to Nike, the ancient figure of victory, but I am not interested in victory as conquest. I am interested in the quieter kind: the way nature keeps rising, adapting, bending, and continuing.

The cool blue-green atmosphere gives the painting a contemplative space, while the plum forms and warm orange-gold passage bring a sense of energy breaking through. It is part abstract figure, part botanical gesture, part inner landscape.

For me, Nature’s Nike is about grace in motion—the kind of strength that does not need to announce itself.
