We serve Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties This allows our older seniors to realistically age in place.

Established in 1997, Community Partners in Caring is a Volunteer organization that recruits, screens, trains, and matches volunteers with clients 62+ and 18+ with disabilities with little to no support. Our mission is to provide volunteer support services that allow our senior population to live independently while maintaining dignity, respect, and quality of life. The seniors we serve reside in the North Santa Barbara County area, lack the support network as well as the financial means to get the help they need. Our services include: free of charge door-through-door local transportation to health related appointments as well as the grocery store; friendly visits, help with yard work, and reassurance phone calls (to check in on those who live alone). We are building up other services: minor home repairs, respite care, help with paperwork and help with light house cleaning. We've recently implemented an intergenerational volunteer program that brings youth and the elderly together in mutually meaningful activities, such as youth teaching seniors how to reconnect/stay connected with loved ones through video chat and other social media apps. At Community Partners in Caring, WE LIVE the word "CARING," not only in the way we serve our seniors, but in the way we appreciate our volunteers, treat our staff/board members, partner agencies, and the public. We invite you to live the word "caring" through us by supporting our work.

Come out to see me at the Mussel Senior center.
Margaret told me she is 87 and very happy to be a client. Her volunteer driver brought her here today to check out the active Aging fair.
Wouldn't you like to help people like fabulous Margaret go places?
Come sign up to be a volunteer driver. You can volunteer around your schedule!

Midge from our outreach team was honored to attend the 2026 Santa Barbara Out of the Darkness Walk at Goleta Beach this past weekend.

This meaningful community gathering brought people together in remembrance, hope, and support for su***de prevention and mental health awareness. We are grateful to the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention, Santa Barbara County Behavioral Wellness, the Santa Barbara Walk Committee, and everyone who showed up to help reduce stigma, strengthen connection, and remind one another that no one has to face difficult moments alone.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline

A heads-up for our Santa Barbara County neighbors 💛

The County is hosting a virtual El Niño community meeting tonight, October 1, from 5:30–7 p.m. They’ll cover the weather outlook, preparing for storm season, and what to know about emergency readiness—with time for questions, too.

You can scan the QR code on the flyer to register for the Zoom webinar. The meeting will also be livestreamed on YouTube in English and Spanish, with a recording available afterward through the same links. Feel free to pass this along to someone who’d find it helpful!

Ms. Daisy is back on safety duty! 🐾 Hot weather is headed for Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. Keep water handy, stay cool, make sure pets have a cool place to rest, and check on older neighbors who may need a hand. A quick call can make a difference.💛

Conditions vary by location, so check the National Weather Service forecast for the latest alerts in your area.

**Ms. Daisy has an important safety reminder!** 🐾

Today September 22 is Falls Prevention Awareness Day. So take a few minutes to look around your home for simple ways to stay safer: clear clutter and loose rugs, brighten halls and stairs, add grab bars where needed, and wear supportive shoes with non-slip soles—even indoors.

Small changes can help prevent falls and support independence. Because while Ms. Daisy may land on her feet, she wants everyone else to stay safely on theirs. 💛
