I think we can all agree that 11yr old Gavin from Gainesville had himself a day! 49 inch Cobia and then he drove the boat back as well ♥️. Says he is coming to work for us next summer as a mate and future Captain 🎣. We have fun out here. Come get with us and Let’s Go.

The smiles tell the story.

Four fishermen. Three brothers. One proud dad. A day they’ll be talking about for years.

This crew made the trip down from North Alabama and put together an incredible catch of American red snapper, triggerfish, vermilion snapper, white snapper, and red grouper. Every fish that came over the rail was celebrated like it was the first, and that’s exactly why we love taking families offshore.

One of the biggest questions we’ve been getting lately is whether you can still catch American red snapper. The answer is yes—aboard our federally permitted vessels. While the recreational and state-water charter seasons have closed, our federal permits allow us to continue fishing for American red snapper in federal waters.

Thanks for trusting Deep Charters with your family’s vacation. We hope those coolers full of fresh fish turn into some unforgettable dinners back home in North Alabama. We’ll be ready when it’s time for round two.

A fun morning on the water with John and his crew, who are spending the week enjoying our beautiful 30A beaches. We put together a nice snapper haul, and tonight’s fresh fish dinner at the condo is officially taken care of. 🐟🌊

Time for us to clean up, reload the ice, and get ready for Round 2 this afternoon. That’s two chances a day to make some memories on the Gulf, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Quick AM grocery run! 🎣

We had a father, son, and friend visiting from Dallas, Texas, jump aboard this morning with one goal—pick up some fresh fish for dinner with the rest of the family tonight.

The American red snapper and vermilion snapper cooperated and made it into the box. A couple of grouper weren’t so lucky…the sharks collected their tax on the way up, and apparently the dolphins decided they needed breakfast too. 😂🐬🦈

Plenty of action, fresh fish for the dinner table, and back to the dock before the day really got started. That’s our kind of grocery run!

Maybe next time I can get my photography skills together and actually get all the fish in the frame. 📸

Today we celebrate 250 years of freedom, opportunity, and the people who make this nation extraordinary.

We truly believe we live in the greatest country on Earth, and we’re grateful for the freedoms that allow us to do what we love every day—sharing time on the water with families and friends from across this incredible nation.

Day 9 of a 17 day grind… and we’re just getting started.

The alarm goes off at 3:30 a.m. every morning for Deep Charters. By the time most people are waking up, my deckhand (mate)Wyatt has already shoveled 400+ pounds of ice, rigged tackle, prepared bait, and made sure the boat is ready to go.

When we finally pull back into the driveway after 9:00 p.m., the work still isn’t over. The boat has to be cleaned, gear put away, and everything reset to do it all again tomorrow.

Meet Wyatt.

Most people only see the photos of big fish. They don’t see the long hours, the early mornings, or the work that happens behind the scenes to make every trip successful. At a time when a lot of kids are sleeping in for the summer, he’s earning every bit of it with hard work, a great attitude, and a willingness to learn.

As a dad, I couldn’t be more proud of the young man he’s becoming. Deep Charters is better because of him, and I know our customers notice the effort he puts into every trip. I get a compliment nearly every trip that they have never seen a charter boat this clean.

Here’s to Day 9… and eight more to go. 💪🎣

You know how these Texas people are obsessed with everything being bigger… The fish were definitely bigger on this trip… just like they hoped. 🤘

When Clay and the crew came over from Texas, he told us, “We want to go deep with Deep Charters and hunt for the giants.” That’s exactly what we did.

The payoff:
🎣 Trophy-sized American red snapper
🎣 Giant red grouper
🎣 A beautiful mahi mahi

We also hooked into a big gag grouper and amberjack that were released healthy using our Return ’Em Right descending device, giving that fish the best chance to head back to the bottom where it belongs.

These are the kinds of days we love—great people, offshore adventures, and a cooler full of fresh fish to take home.

Thanks again to Clay and the crew for making the trip over from Texas. We appreciate y’all trusting us to put you on some quality Gulf fish.
