Helping Empaths Heal from Trauma & Learn to use their Empathy as a Gift & not a "curse."

Comment “Journal” to get the Inner Child Journal to get the questions I ask during sessions to uncover your childhood wound & get practical tools for working through your childhood trauma.

1. They taught you that being “good” mattered more than being real. So you learned to perform instead of belong.
2. They made you responsible for everyone else’s emotions. So now you can feel tension in a room before anyone speaks.
3. They criticized your body, appearance, weight, or femininity until self-consciousness felt normal. So now being seen can feel unsafe.
4. They competed with you instead of nurturing you. So support may still feel unfamiliar.
5. They shamed confidence and called it arrogance, attitude, or selfishness. So shrinking yourself became safer than shining.
6. They rewarded self-sacrifice and punished self-prioritization. So guilt may show up the moment you choose yourself.
7. They made boundaries feel selfish. So saying no can feel heavier than it should.
8. They guilted you for growing up, becoming independent, or leaving. So freedom can still trigger anxiety.
9. They treated your achievements like threats instead of milestones. So success may come with guilt, dread, or the urge to hide.
10. They used guilt to keep access to your life. So distance may feel cruel even when it protects you.
11. They made caretaking feel like identity. So resting can feel unfamiliar and being needed can feel like love.

Daughters of dysfunctional parents can waste their entire life trying to gain their understanding. The cost is not fully existing in your life as a full person.

And you know what that feels like?

It’s the never ending feeling of not being enough, not having a clue what move to make in life, feeling bad for needing what you need & burying your dreams and those beautiful talents you have because you are so confused on who you are.

That’s not the story you want to write.
You deserve more than that.

Two things are usually happening when you get stuck in this pattern:

1. Your nervous system feels unsafe making them unhappy and believes that being understood equals safety.

The truth is... with narcissistic parents, you are only as safe as your boundaries are strong. Making them unhappy because you set healthy expectations in the relationship is what makes you truly safe.

2. You’re having to heal from emotional manipulation where guilt was weaponized against you to control your behavior and feelings.

The truth is.... guilt sucks to sit with but it won’t feel worse than allowing manipulation to continue for the rest of your life and steal your happiness. It’s going to a lot of saying what you need to say and sitting with other people’s discomfort to re-write the pattern. You can do it.

Of all the childhood wounds, Guilt is the one that shows up most in sessions and also I’ve personally had to work through it ALOT.

If you’ve been stuck trying to figure out if working together is a good fit for you, just DM me and I’m happy to answer your questions 🏹

Comment “Quiz” to Take the quiz to find out which of the 4 Major Childhood Wounds are impacting you the most❤️

Growing up in a family with emotionally immature parents means having to grow up quick.

You don’t have the luxury of being the one who can run to their parents when something goes wrong because they can’t handle it.

You learn at an early age that even though they may love you, they can’t really be there for you in a way that makes you feel like you have consistent support or understanding.

So you learn how to emotionally manage every situation on your own. You learn what to say or not say, when to say it and when to hold your tongue.

You learn to put their feelings and reactions first because dealing with their emotions can be more weight than you can handle… especially when you’re moving through something hard and don’t want to handle their feelings about what’s happening to you, on top of your own.

It creates emotional neglect.

You as a child who learned to not take their feelings to anyone but instead to go inward and handle it alone.

Question for you….
“What emotions do you tend to downplay to the people in your life?” And “What do you wish someone would say to you in those moments if they knew what you were feeling?”

The real cost of being told “but they’re family” is this.

Toxic family doesn’t care how their behavior harms you, they care how well you play the role.
They don’t care about the physical cost to your health and the ways it shows up as pain, illness, constantly feeling burned out, anxious or exhausted.

They don’t care about the dreams you’ve given up because you’ve either put them first or become so shut down that you don’t have any energy left to go after them.

Trauma that comes from being a part of your family can rob you of the life you want to have. It can keep you stuck in a constant state of survival which just means that you are always on guard, waiting for the next bad thing to happen.

People who haven’t lived through it, don’t understand.

That’s why when you’re healing from family trauma, you have to learn to trust yourself first.
If you can learn to calm the guilt & fear just enough to get started, that’s all you need.

It’s what I help my clients do every single day.
It’s not a massive step in the beginning, it’s small steps because you’re going to be afraid and it’s going to feel scary and overwhelming and make you question if you’re a bad person.
You’re not but you’re nervous system doesn’t know that... YET.

If you’re ready for support because you’re sick of feeling like you can’t say “no,” check out the link in bio for options or DM me.

Comment “TOXIC” for the free guide on breaking toxic family rules 🖤

The skills you learn growing up as the scapegoat in a dysfunctional family are all built on 1 thing…

Survive the toxic family rules.

You’re role is not one you chose, it’s one that’s given to you by your family and it makes you responsible for carrying the family’s pain.

You learn that you have to be hyper-vigilant and always on alert for everyone’s feelings and moods.

You learn to not ask for help but become the helper instead because your needs don’t matter.

You learn to treat yourself as a second class citizen in the family because if you put yourself first there are consequences.

And those patterns… you start to think they’re your personality when in fact, they’re just your coping mechanisms.

But they’re not who you really are and until you see your family’s toxic patterns clearly, you will think they’re are.
