Community Church Preschool families, please make note of a few important dates coming up in October!

🕛 **Friday, October 9** – Early Release at **12:00 PM**
There will be **no Late Stay** on this day, so all children will need to be picked up by noon.

🇺🇸 **Monday, October 12 & Tuesday, October 13** – **Preschool Closed** in observance of Columbus Day.

💚✝️ Weekly Devotion: The Be Attitude of CARING ✝️💚

This week at Community Church Preschool, we are continuing our study of the Beatitudes by learning what it means to have a caring heart. ❤️

Our little learners are hearing the story of Jesus and Lazarus from John 11 and discovering how deeply Jesus cared for His friends. Through this story, we can help children understand that Jesus cares about us, and He wants us to care for others, too! 🌿

We’re encouraging our preschoolers to put their faith into action by looking for simple ways to show care—helping a friend, giving a hug, using kind words, including someone, or helping someone who is having a hard day. 🥰

🏡 Try it at home: Ask your child, “What is one way we can show someone we care today?” Then choose one small act of kindness to do together!

💗 Preschoolers really do say the cutest things! 💗

Sometimes the words don’t come out *quite* right… but somehow their version ends up being even better. 😂🥰 And before we know it, they learn to say it correctly and we find ourselves missing those sweet little pronunciations!

💡🧸 **Parenting Tip of the Week: Encourage Independent Play!** 🧸💡

Did you know that giving your child time to play independently can help build **creativity, self-confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills?** 🌟

As parents, it can be tempting to jump in and entertain, help, or direct our children’s play—but sometimes the best thing we can do is simply **give them the space to explore!**

Start with short, age-appropriate periods of independent play. Offer open-ended materials like **blocks, pretend-play items, books, art supplies, or simple toys**, then let your child decide what happens next. You can stay nearby for reassurance without taking over their play. ❤️

And remember—**a little boredom is okay!** Those “I don’t know what to do” moments often give children the opportunity to use their imagination and come up with something all on their own. 💭✨

💙 Meet Our Two-Year-Old Assistant Teacher — Ms. Alyssa Kimble! 💙

We are excited to introduce Ms. Alyssa, one of the caring faces helping guide and support our two-year-old classroom at Community Church Preschool!

Alyssa earned her bachelor’s degree in Art History from Columbus State University in Georgia. While much of her professional background has been in hospitality, she has also spent meaningful time volunteering with children through her local art museum’s children’s program. Her creativity, patience, and love of learning make her a wonderful addition to our preschool team.

Outside of the classroom, Alyssa enjoys visiting museums, going to the movies, attending local events and farmers markets, and learning more about art and history. She also has an orange cat named Pumpkin who is very special to her! 🐾

We are thankful to have Ms. Alyssa helping create a warm, encouraging, and engaging environment for our youngest learners each day. 💛
