Inner Explorer Mindful Awareness Program Highlights:
Inner Explorer mindful awareness programs consist of a series of audio-guided recordings used each day. This simple approach allows schools to easily implement these practices in all classrooms to reduce the effects of chronic stress. Students become more resilient, have less anxiety and develop the skills of self-awareness, attention and self-control. These skills are critical to success in school and in life. Evidence Based: Research has demonstrated these practices improve school performance, including higher grade point average (GPA) and higher grades in reading, math, and science, as well as reduce behavioral problems. Easy to Implement: Teachers press 'play' each day and listen along with students to the 10-minute (5 minute for pre-K -K) audio-guided recording from a series of 180 practices to match the typical school year, available in English or Spanish. Curriculum Neutral: The program can be used during normal transition times (after recess, before lunch or between 2 subjects). Resource Neutral: The program does not require room changes, scheduling changes, extra teachers or extra training. Universal: All students in every classroom can participate simultaneously, making it one of the most effective mental health and wellbeing programs in education.

Last week, our CEO and co-founder, Dr. Laura Bakosh, and Dr. Eric Tyler of Pediatric Associates attended the Alabama Children's Policy Council Conference to share why daily mindfulness can't wait in Alabama schools.
Dr. Tyler took the stage to show how many kids in one Alexander City classroom carry adverse childhood experiences. His point was simple: a stressed brain can't learn, no matter how good the lesson is.
Dr. Tyler is also the one who brought Inner Explorer to Nathaniel H. Stephens Elementary. After one year of daily practice, the school saw:
📚 92% third grade reading proficiency, up from 86%
📉 48% fewer office referrals
📈 33% math growth on iReady
Laura also caught up with Principal Richardson of NH Stephens Elementary. According to Principal Richardson, office referrals dropped by almost half, and the only change the school made was adding Inner Explorer.
If you stopped by our booth, you know the policy we kept pushing: regulate first, then educate.

Thank you to Dr. Eric Tyler and Principal Richardson for your support💚

A lockdown drill shouldn’t end with “Okay, back to class.”
Build recovery into the routine.
Giving students and educators a few minutes to practice mindfulness together can create space to settle, reset, and prepare to return to learning.
We created our free School Safety Toolkit to help schools think beyond the drill itself and incorporate mindfulness into their safety routines.

Prepare. Practice. Recover.

⚠️ Your lockdown drill routine shouldn’t end when the drill does.
Safety drills activate the stress response. Research on active-shooter drills found increases in stress, anxiety, and depression following drills, with effects persisting for at least 90 days.
Before students and staff return to instruction, they need an intentional way to settle, regulate, and transition back to learning.
💡 Mindfulness provides that transition.
Inner Explorer’s School Safety Series includes mindfulness practices specifically designed for use after fire and lockdown drills, helping schools make regulation part of the post-drill routine.
Our free School Safety Toolkit shows you how to put that approach into practice, with guidance for reducing the impact of safety drills, incorporating Settle & Soothe, recognizing signs of stress, supporting students with trauma-informed strategies, and extending support to families.

Daily mindfulness is simple. The outcomes can be measurable. 🌿
At Grieco Elementary, consistent practice with Inner Explorer has become the foundation to the school day, with the school reporting 93% teacher retention and no student suspensions in over four years.
It’s a powerful example of what can happen when student and educator well-being is supported proactively, every day.

‼️ Mindfulness does not eliminate painful thoughts. It changes the brain's relationship to them, restoring the capacity to observe, pause, and choose rather than react.
🎗️ Today is World Su***de Prevention Day, so we want to talk about the science.
Suicidal ideation comes from rigid, automatic thinking in a brain locked in stress. A young person in that state is not choosing those thoughts. Their stressed brain is producing them.
Daily mindfulness changes that default. It slows the automaticity and restores flexible thinking, so a painful thought stops taking over. Randomized controlled trials back this up. Our children deserve solutions built on research.
We pulled the studies into one short brief that breaks down how daily mindfulness reduces suicidal ideation by addressing its biological root. Read it here: https://hubs.la/Q04x7KPS0

We are honored to announce our Co-owner and CEO Laura Bakosh will be speaking at the World Logic Forum 2026 in New York on September 17.
At a moment when the decisions we make across healthcare, philanthropy, education, investing, and society are becoming increasingly complex, we need more than information, we need better reasoning.
We are looking forward to joining an extraordinary group of leaders across generations and sectors to ask better questions, challenge assumptions, and explore how we can make more thoughtful decisions about the future.
The World Logic Forum brings together leaders who are not only thinking about what comes next, but are willing to reason together about how we get there.

I hope you’ll join us for the conversation!
Back to school is here but students don't arrive ready to learn.
They arrive distracted, dysregulated, and stressed, and the first weeks of the year are the hardest. A stressed brain is a blocked brain.
The strongest lesson plan can't stick in a mind that hasn't settled yet. That's why with Inner Explorer, mindful awareness comes first.
And this year, the same daily practice educators trust comes back in a completely new experience. It takes 21 days to build a habit.
Watch what our school communities see the first time they log in to Inner Explorer's newly designed platform.

We’re thrilled to serve as an elected Logic Circle Member and proud to support our partners at Logictry and Chelsea Toler as a sponsor of the upcoming UNGA World Logic Forum: The Future of Healthcare, Philanthropy & Capitalism.
On September 17th, The forum will bring together leaders across philanthropy, family offices, healthcare, investment, and beyond to explore who is shaping the future and how we can reason better together.
At Inner Explorer, that idea resonates deeply. The biggest challenges facing young people and communities don’t exist in silos, and meaningful progress requires collaboration across sectors.
