🆘AC AND PARTIAL POWER OUTAGE🆘

We need your help. It is too hot for the dogs to stay in our kennels and we desperately need foster homes to house 51 of them. Any amount of time is helpful 🙏

When we bought this building, we knew it was old. We’ve done as much preventative maintenance as possible and gotten ahead for repairs.

We expected to need a new AC unit in 3-5 years, not today and not in the middle of a scorching GA summer.

We are running on daylight and fans plugged into the portion of the building that still has power. There is no AC.

We are working with Provenza Properties, who is doing the labor for free and Aaction Air, who is finding us the best deal they can. A nice new unit will cost around $12,000 and we are trying to figure out how to manage that cost.

We ask a lot and we hate having to ask so much more.

Please consider picking up a dog for a bit to help us out we will be here all night so just swing by - we’re doing our best but we’re not able to respond to all comments and DMs 🙏 and if you can’t, please consider chipping in a few bucks towards our new unit.

We’re kicking things off across the border at Petco in Bluffton with some of our funniest furballs. Come say hi, get your snorf on, and start your Saturday with some very good dogs.

🍕 5 PM–8 PM | Savannah, GA
Then we’re bringing the party back to Savannah at Hop Atomica for an evening of pizza, beverages, and roasted pitatoes. Yes, we will be snorfin’ down pizza. No, we will not be taking questions at this time.

Come hang out with Renegade Paws Rescue, meet some hilarious rescue dogs, support local rescue, and generally make questionable but excellent Saturday decisions.

We are having an identity crisis…

Our dogs are out here looking like literally anything except dogs.

Some are giving “dust bunny with anxiety.”
Some are giving “mop that pays taxes.”
Others woke up and chose “cryptid.”

It’s… a spectrum.

Some are having a subtle identity crisis.

Others are having a full-blown 2008 celebrity public meltdown.

Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. We’re simply here to support them through these confusing times.

There were claw marks where Estelle tried desperately to climb out of the sewer.

Four feet below the surface, she used every ounce of energy left in her weak body attempting to get out. By the time someone noticed, it was nearly too late. There was no way to know how long she had been down there, wasting away in the sludge.

She never even barked.

“The dog is weaker than I thought and extremely dehydrated. The dog appears anemic and is completely infested with fleas,” wrote the animal control officer in his report. She had open, infected wounds on her ears from fly strike.

According to the officer, she collapsed when he finally got her on dry land. Once she was able to stand, she “was very grateful, friendly and wagging her tail,” he wrote.

Estelle has been through a trauma most of us only have nightmares about. And without our help, she will never get that second chance that she so desperately deserves.

Estelle is 2 years old, dog-friendly and now 46lbs. She is heartworm positive, but Renegade will treat those at no cost to her foster or adopters. If she can be saved.

She is at a municipal animal control facility that has no choice but to euthanize for space when kennels are full. Nobody - especially not this facility - want to euthanize for space. But they are legally required to take in any dog that comes through their doors and legally required to maintain less than a certain number of dogs at their facility.

They have begged us for help because they love Estelle. And now her time is up unless we can find a foster. Renegade is not a municipal shelter and we can say “no” when we are full. We are lucky.

Please - if you’ve ever considered fostering - now is the time.

Everyone expects a German Shepherd to be all business, but Woofie missed the memo.

She’s much more interested in collecting forehead scritchies than chasing suspects.

And let it be known: she ain’t no narc. Just please don’t blaze it where she can eat it because she’s a hongry girl and a seat on the couch is about as “high” as she wants to get.

Her current caseload includes figuring out who opened the cheese wrapper and unearthing why anyone would venture into the bathroom without her. Despite logging hundreds of investigative hours, she’s yet to arrest a single criminal.

She has, however, successful solved the mystery of who gives the best butt scratches. And shocker - it’s anyone close enough for her to rub her furry dump truck on.
Intruder who? Every new person is an opportunity for snackos and face-kisses. So if you’re looking for a guard dog, keep scrolling.

Woofie is gentle, loyal and happiest when she’s sniffin’ for squirrels and lounging in the sun.

She is dog-friendly and kind to puppies and seniors alike. She’s currently looking for a foster home or an adopter so she blow this clink and continue her career in the doggy detective department.

Someone broke into our shelter gates.

And if that wasn’t violating enough, they dumped a dog.

Meet Denzel, he’s incredibly sweet, friendly, happy, loving and kind. And yes, we’re glad he’s safe - of course we are - because none of this is his fault.

But we’re also frustrated.

Our rescue doesn’t have empty kennels sitting around waiting to be filled. Every new dog we accept is carefully planned because every spot matters. When someone forces us to take a dog this way, it means another dog doesn’t get that spot.

And that “other dog” - the one who doesn’t get that spot - is usually one sitting in a municipal shelter with a euthanasia deadline that may pass before we have another open spot.

That part - the life or death of another dog - is the part people don’t think about when they break in to surrender a dog illegally. Leaving a dog this way is considered abandonment and it is a crime.

Dumping a dog at a rescue doesn’t create space. Instead, it takes space away from another dog who was already in line to come. Municipal shelters have a surrender process for a reason and it helps maximize the number of dogs we as a community can save. Dumping a dog at a rescue helps nobody.

Denzel is microchipped and we traced his information to an owner that never responded to us or animal control.

Now that Denzel is here, though, he’s ours. And we’ll do what we always do, which is love him, care for him and do our very best to find him the family he deserves.

We’ll love him, get him vetted, and find him the family he deserves. He loves to play with other dogs and he loves giving hugs. And we’re putting him out here so that you, our amazing community, can find him the forever he should have always had.

If you’re looking for a really good boy to foster or adopt, Denzel is worth meeting. And if you can’t foster or adopt, a share goes a long way ❤️‍🩹🙏

More than $19,000 🤯

That’s what this incredible community raised at our Renegade Yard Sale this weekend.

We are beyond grateful to everyone who donated items, came out to shop, shared our event, and supported us in any way.

So what does more than $19,000 mean for the dogs?

It means life-saving surgeries. Heartworm treatment. Emergency veterinary care. Vaccines. Spay and neuter surgeries, food, medications, crates, supplies. And, most importantly, it means we can continue saying “yes” to dogs who have nowhere else to turn.

Every dollar raised represents a dog who gets another chance.

To everyone who donated items, gave us raffle prizes, shopped our sale and shared the event: thank you for making this weekend such an incredible success. We receive no money from the government and fundraisers like this are truly the difference between life and death for so many dogs.

We want to give an extra special thank you to our volunteers.

They spent long days hauling furniture, unloading cars, sorting donations, setting up, tearing down, and standing outside for hours in the relentless Georgia summer heat because they believed in this mission. This would not have happened without their dedication.

Now, we’re taking a few months off before gearing up for a massive fall/winter sale. So start gathering your items and saving your cash 😉
