Formed by music-loving community leaders, Capital Region Classical (CRC) is a new nonprofit organization which assumed control of the beloved Union College Concert Series in December 2019. For almost fifty years, the series has presented some of the world's leading classical musicians at Union College from Mitsuko Uchida to the Emerson String Quartet to Ian Bostridge. The series performs the bulk of its season at the historic and acouslically-superb Memorial Chapel on the campus of Union College in Schenectady. Rose and Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, and will continue to expand its reach throughout New York's Capital Region over the course of the next ten years.

The Quatuor Modigliani performs Mozart’s G-major Quartet, K. 156. The Parisian ensemble, which has become a mainstay at Carnegie Hall, returns to CRC on Sun, Oct 25 at 3pm. They bring a new work by Czech composer Mařatka alongside quartets of Schumann and Haydn. On Sunday, October 18 at 3pm, Jennifer Koh, violin and Vijay Iyer, piano open our 26-27 Season at Union College with the NY Premiere of Iyer’s composition Scenes of Living and Dying, Part II: The Betweens, co-commissioned by CRC. Koh opens the program with Bach’s D-minor Partita before joining Iyer for Scenes of Living and Dying: Part I followed by solo piano works of Iyer.
