Finding a root cause versus putting a bandaid on the problem has always been a priority here at Love At First Latch.

Our providers aren't just chasing symptoms, we are hunting for reasons.

Breastfeeding isn't just about technique-it's about you and your baby's bodies working in harmony with one another.

Sometimes practice looks like gut healing and decreasing inflammation. Other times it looks like working on function and mechanics.

Either way, we are looking for results that are sustainable-not temporary.

Because when we fix the why-not just the what-you and your baby's breastfeeding journey flourishes and motherhood feels less like survival and more like strength.

Year 4 of having opened my private lactation practice. Never could I have ever thought I would find work that is so inspiring and fulfilling as I have in this job. Thank you to all of the families and community for trusting us with your care. We treat each and everyone client and baby as if they are part of our own families. To year 5 and beyond.

I see this is in my practice almost daily: parents rush out to get a frenectomy done, hoping that it's the magic fix for their feeding issues.

What usually happens? Feeding gets harder.

Why? Because now we have a baby with weak muscle tone who can't latch appropriately. Sometimes this is coupled with body tension as well, making latching and feeding really hard. All of these things can be addressed pre-frenectomy with oral exercises by a trained IBCLC and a skilled bodyworker.

Please, take a second and breathe. We all want a quick fix when it comes to feeding, but sometimes things take time and we have to trust the process along the way. If your baby is struggling with latching or oral ties, please consider a comprehensive evaluation by a trained provider before the procedure.
