Music in the Park kicks off next week with Blue Velvet Groove on Thursday, Aug. 6 at Madison Park!

​Blue Velvet Groove will be offering an unforgettable night of funk, disco and 80s grooves!

Bring your picnic blanket, your family and friends, and your dancing shoes for a month of musical sensations! Pick up beverages and other goodies at any of Madison Park’s selection of great restaurants and settle in beginning at 6:30pm for a variety of family-friendly musical styles under the summer skies at the park.

The Madison Park Children’s Parade and Picnic returns this Saturday, July 11th from 12-2pm! Come decorate your bikes and lineup at 11:45am by the Starbucks before the parade starts at noon.

The neighborhood Children’s Parade and Picnic takes place each year in the heart of Madison Park. The Seattle Fire Department leads the way as children of all ages parade down the business district on scooters, bikes, strollers, and on foot. Once they reach Madison Park playground, they are greeted by games, face painting, crafts, snow cones, hot dogs, music and more! This has become one of the neighborhood’s favorite yearly events.

The event coincides with the Madison Park Farmers Market and business district Sidewalk Sale.

Meet the Instructor!

After teaching music (on a semi-professional basis) for many years, Alex became a full-time teacher at The Music Factory in 2011. Specializing in guitar instruction, he also provides lessons on electric bass, keyboards and ukulele, for all ages, styles & skill levels. Not being an adherent of the “one size fits all” approach, Alex custom-designs his lesson plans for each individual student based on the student’s goals, influences & personality.
