It's the sound of when love was as easy as dancing; staring out the window at dusk on hour six of a long road trip; the smell of the night drifting through the open window while you're just on the cusp of falling asleep.

lean in close, my new album, is officially released!

i am so proud of this project. it is not only my most cohesive and professional piece of work to date, it also touches so many emotions from so many different points in my life. i included in this post a picture that took of me when we watched the last sunrise of 2023 in joshua tree together because the oldest songs on this album have been kicking around in my brain and my hard drive for at least 2 and half years, if not longer.

this album is about learning to recognize your own emotional patterns and grow from that knowledge. for a lot of my life, i have experienced long and dark episodes of depression. learning to cope with that and manage it was one thing, but teaching myself how to identify and describe my emotions after spending so much of my life muting them was another journey completely. music and poetry played a huge role in learning how to express myself healthily, and this album is the result of that.

i want to again express my deepest gratitude to the people who helped my finish this project;

for not only being a fantastic mastering engineer, but also one of the educators that set me on the path to making music to begin with.
the.artist for helping me mix some of these songs and also just being one of the most encouraging and pleasant people i’ve met.

for being a stellar engineer and recording the final drums for a bunch of songs, everyone go check out her studio its very cozy and inviting

for taking basically every cool photo that i have of myself for the last two years and also just being a wonderful beautiful supportive partner!

…and finally to all of the friends and family that has ever left me a voicemail, thank you for unwittingly providing the backdrop to one of my favorite songs on the album, i love you all and appreciate you. please leave me more voicemails!

thank you for reading this and listening and being supportive of my art everyone. i have more things coming soon’

one more final single for you all before i drop the whole album, coming at the beginning of march!

“hide my face” is an ode to the times when you let the bad thoughts win, when you give up for a little bit and just sink into that all consuming, self deprecating, nihilistic depressive energy and blame both the world and yourself for everything bad. i wrote this song when my self confidence was feeling shakier than it had in years; i had gotten laid off and was trying to navigate the horrific job market while also preparing for a move and dealing with the community fallout of the altadena and palisades fires in early 2025, among other things (expensive car trouble, personal life drama, etc). this paradoxically upbeat little ditty was my release of those emotions, and a way to make everything feel a little less serious.

a tremendous thank you to the people who helped me with this track:

for tracking the drums with me
for the incredible master
for the artwork photoshoot

im so excited to drop this track, i love this song so much.

its my favorite song on my upcoming album, possibly my favorite song that i have written. i wrote this during another one of my brief stints of living out of my car, but in a lot of ways it’s an examination of how the emotions i experienced living without a home align with those of being in a co-dependent relationship.

my new album (which will be coming out at the end of february) explores a lot of emotional parallels, so if u like this song just u wait ive got a lot where that came from!

again i want to thank the truly remarkable .the.artist for his help getting the mix on this just right, and the one and only for a master i could have only dreamed of achieving on my own. work with these two ppl! they are unmatched!!

photos are of my lovely terrible rickety amazing subaru outback named earl who has housed me multiple times and somehow managed to survive both the move to LA and to seattle. love u earl, i will be so sad when ur transmission finally goes.

tapestry is out now!

this album to me is like falling down the rabbit hole of my own memories on a long drive. its a reflection the lessons burned into my consciousness from some of the more impactful arcs and events in my life. most of them fu***ng sucked, but im better for having made it through and changed with flow.

this album wouldn’t exist without a lot of people helping me along the way, but truly is what made it happen, from encouraging me with the demos to helping record and produce half the tracklist. he is the best friend you could ask for, and im so grateful to be in his orbit.

thank you to everyone who reads this for listening, for caring, for encouraging me and offering me guidance and kindness. i truly appreciate you all 💚

newest chune alert weeoo weeoo

i recorded the final takes for careful machine with this march and though i love them very much, every time i listened back to that first demo i couldn’t deny there was something special about how raw it was. i recorded that first take just minutes after the lyrics poured out of of me and into my notes app. the album will only have the final polished version, but i wanted to include the demo here in case it hits as hard for anyone else as it does for me.

hugs n kisses n thanks for the listens mwah
