I came up with 3…2..1 as a concept about 8 years ago. I pitched it to several theaters, but it was never the right time. In 2024, S.O.A.P. hosted the first 3…2..1.

Funny thing though, I almost cancelled the show. I was exhausted from my first ever edinburgh fringe and figured I needed more time. I did it anyway, and 3…2..1 was contracted to produce monthly at S.O.A.P.

For most of the past two years, I was a one person team. Once a quarter, Janae Walla and Tyra Rose would graciously step in as host, but this was otherwise an investment to get 3…2..1 to a point of international impact.

The people in this photo have made this next step in 3…2..1’s journey possible. Friends for years and now The SaltShake Team, I cannot describe how much joy I feel when I now hear, “Our Show.”

A little about the team✨

Michael Pollack is my life long friend since kindergarten. Over the past two weeks he’s shone light on countless artist’s works. He offers the kindest pep talks, punchiest punch lines, and makes sure we’re all taken care of. Today we get to see him take the stage as a performer for the first time since middle school.

Gabby Marston is my dear friend of 5 years. With every step of the process, a new talent of hers was unveiled. Her eye for details has held SaltShake’s values accountable in practice and also made our T Shirts aesthetically pleasing. Her simple “could i make some buttons to hand out?” revealed quirky beautiful doodles that have convinced folks to come to our show. She has offered so much love, fun, and passion to this process.

Tyra Rose started our connection 7 years ago as colleagues. 3 years ago I danced for Tyra in a work that was the first seed of the full length she produced this year. Knowing her story and watching from the audience, I can confidently say it was the best dance works i’ve seen in recent history. Her talent is undeniable, her laugh is contagious. She’s a prime example of alchemy through the arts.
