Dog Training We offer board and train as well as private lessons. Our goal is to increase the human and canine bond through training and behavioral modification.

We are professional dog trainers with our degrees in Animal Behavior. We also offer boarding so if you are going out of town and don't want to leave your dog at a kennel please give us a call. All of our boarding and training dogs live with us in our home. We treat them as if they were one of ours. We find that this decreases stress for the dogs and it also helps us with our training dogs because

Henri just wrapped up her first week of our two-week Puppy Foundation Program, and she’s been busy!

We have been focusing on going beyond just teaching Henri cues, we have been building skills that create a confident, and well rounded companion.

🐾 Loose leash walking
🏡 Exploring Home Depot and practicing calm behavior around new sights, sounds, and people
🏖️ A trip to the beach and water adventures
🌲 Off-leash pack adventures at the tree farm to build confidence and appropriate social skills
✨ Learning to stack for the show ring
🛏️ Beginning the place command to develop relaxation and impulse control

At this age, puppies are learning every moment they’re awake. Our goal is to make those experiences positive, thoughtful, and productive. This will build a strong positive foundation for Henri and her incredible owners.

Henri has been an absolute joy to work with, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish during week two! 🩷

Lola, the beautiful Ibizan Hound is here working on place training and leash reactivity. She is already settling right into our routine. 💕

“Place” may look simple, but it is one of my favorite tools for teaching dogs how to slow down, settle their bodies, and be comfortable simply existing without needing to react to everything happening around them.

For a dog who struggles with leash reactivity, learning calmness away from the leash is an important piece of the puzzle. We are building skills for Lola to help her make better choices, so that when she sees another dog she doesn’t just react.

I think it’s safe to say Lola is looking pretty comfortable with today’s lesson 🐾

It’s been a while… and I’m excited to be back. 🐾

You have probably noticed that after years of being pretty quiet on social media, Classy Canines is changing and we are so excited about the new direction.

For nearly 15 years, I have had the privilege of caring for and training so many incredible dogs. While boarding has and always will be a big part of Classy Canines, my passion and the reason why I started this company is training and helping dogs and their owners build better relationships.

As Classy Canines evolves, you will be seeing more puppy training, board-and-train, private lessons and training adventures-like Brody above learning how to confidently navigate the Ballard Farmers Market.

And to my long-time boarding clients, don’t worry! Boarding isn’t going away. ❤️

I’m excited to share more of what we do and where Classy Canines is headed.

Welcome to the pack Islay! 🐾

Islay has just arrived here for her very first stay at Classy Canines and she is already romping around the backyard with the other pups. I absolutely love to see this!

It can often take adult dogs, especially a sensitive breed like vizslas, time to settle into a new environment. Seeing Islay play and confidently join the group so quickly is a sign that she feels safe and comfortable here.

My goal isn’t to just provide your dog a place to stay, it is to create a home that your dog can truly settle into and feel safe and enjoy their vacation while you are away. I am happy to say that Islay is off to a great start and we are looking forward to the rest of the time with this fun girl.

The true test of training isn’t what a dog can do during a lesson—it’s what they can do during everyday life.

While I watered flowers, Brody practiced one of the most valuable skills a family dog can learn: calmly doing nothing.

Place command builds impulse control, patience, and the ability to relax even when the world around them is moving. That’s the kind of obedience that makes life with your dog easier and more enjoyable.

Prince is in the perfect stage to build confidence, manners, and trust — because puppies grow quickly, but the habits they learn early can last a lifetime. 🐾❤️
Our Puppy Foundation Program is designed to help your puppy start life with confidence, structure, and a strong connection to their family. Together, we focus on:
✔️ Confidence in new environments
✔️ Crate and house-training routines
✔️ Calm manners and impulse control
✔️ Socialization and handling skills
✔️ Sit, down, recall, and leash foundations
✔️ Clear communication and a lasting bond with their people
These early months are an important window for learning. With thoughtful training now, you can help your puppy build the foundation for a calmer, more confident life by your side.

What creates off-leash reliability?

Not corrections.
Not repetition.
Not luck.

Relationship.
Consistency.
And teaching a dog how to make good choices.

Brody practiced an off-leash pack sit-stay today, learning that even around other dogs and exciting environments, calm focus is always worth it.

Freedom is earned through self-control. 🐾

Every great dog starts with a solid foundation.

Brody is here for 5 weeks of Board & Train, and today marks the beginning of his journey. Over the coming weeks we’ll focus on communication, clarity, confidence, and the life skills that help dogs thrive both at home and out in the world.

We can’t wait to watch him grow.

Welcome, Brody. ❤️🐾
