When Antoinette was growing up in Rice Camp, Maui, she was the kid everyone came to when they got hurt. Fish hooks, scraped knees, anything. She didn't know it yet, but she was learning her life's work. Today, as Health and Safety Director at Hawaii Petroleum, she's still that person, just on a bigger scale. Now she makes sure every employee across our fuel docks, distribution centers, and Minit Stops goes home safe at the end of their shift. No roads? No problem. Rainy day on the ramp? Also not a problem for Northern Air Cargo.
We visited our Alaska-based air cargo company NAC last week on a particularly rainy summer day. While most of us were reaching for an umbrella, the NAC team was out on the ramp doing what they do every day: loading freight bound for communities across Alaska.
Here's the thing about Alaska: most of the state isn't connected by road. For dozens of communities, the plane overhead isn't just cargo. It's groceries on the shelf, medicine at the clinic, parts that keep the power on. That freight doesn't wait for good weather, and neither does NAC.
Rain or shine, this team shows up so Alaska has what it needs to thrive. We're proud to call them family.
