The Banana App was created to connect food donors—including supermarkets, groceries, produce stands and restaurants—with verified recipients who could pick up edible surplus food directly. The idea remains urgent: useful food should nourish people, not become waste because it is imperfect for display. The Be Good Project is exploring what a responsible, safe and sustainable 2026 restart would require.

If you can contribute product thinking, research, design, engineering, food-safety knowledge, community perspective or reliable coordination, we would like to hear from you.

The Be Good Project is part of a wider community addressing hunger, food waste and access to nutritious food. Local food banks, school pantries, senior meal programs, mutual-aid groups and food-rescue organizations may do complementary work. Review each mission, programs and transparency, and consider recurring support when possible.

Some of the most important leaders never appear on a ballot. They are neighbors who notice gaps, volunteers who return and organizers who connect people with resources. Strong community leadership is practical and nonpartisan. It listens first, includes people affected by the issue, communicates honestly and shares credit.

In 2026, every person can help carry the good forward.

You do not need a committee, title or large budget to help. One person can deliver groceries, translate information, sort donations, offer a professional skill or invite friends to support a trusted organization. Ask what is needed, select a role you can sustain and show up reliably. Consistency often matters more than scale.

In 2026, every person can help carry the good forward.

Churches and other faith communities often have trusted relationships, gathering space and people ready to serve. They can host requested-item collections, prepare meals, recruit drivers or support an established hunger-relief organization. Effective service welcomes everyone and follows sound food-safety, privacy and accessibility practices.

Schools can turn hunger awareness into meaningful service. Students can organize requested-item drives, create educational materials, support a school pantry or partner with a trusted nonprofit. Strong projects connect service with learning: research the need, listen to community partners, plan responsibly and reflect afterward.

In 2026, every person can help carry the good forward.
