SAAS XC celebrated big accomplishments last Wednesday at Lower Woodland. Varsity boys team won their first regular season Metro League Meet ever and Emmy S. (2027) won her first ever regular season Metro League Meet.
Shoutout to the dozen other Cards that posted new personal records and season bests!

What’s special about our College Advising department? For one, we have the largest college counseling office at a private high school in Seattle, and that allows us to draw on a rich background of experiences.
Also, everyone in the department has worked in college admission before coming to SAAS, so they’ve all read college applications and made decisions based on them.

Thank you to all who made it out to Reunion Weekend. Over 100 guests attended with alumni traveling from 6 different states. Lots of gratitude to our 13 student tour guides, and student DJ!

Middle School Environmental Science teacher Sam Rapoport recently hosted an insightful Climate Talk panel at Seattle Art Museum, bringing together expert guest speakers to help us explore the changing climate and pose thoughts about how humans might change, too.
In the classroom, Sam helps connect real-world science, outdoor experiences, and creative critical thinking to empower the next generation of problem-solvers.
He says, “I’m passionate about having brought some of the most complex and pressing challenges facing our communities front and center in our classroom. Students wrestle with local effects of climate change, drought, and pollution in a productive, energizing, and solutions-oriented way. Students respect the complexity and scale of the issues in front of them while simultaneously harnessing the power and responsibility they have to bring about the bright, sustainable, and just future they deserve.”

With over 800 student-athletes competing across the school year, SAAS athletics is in full motion. Media Day brought the energy to celebrate our fall teams—cross country, competitive dance, golf, soccer, Ultimate frisbee, volleyball, and the debut of our newest team: SAAS Swim.
Catch some of our fall teams live this Friday, September 18 at Starfire Sports Complex for SAAS Pride: Fallapalooza. Games kick off at 3:15 PM. Be there, make noise, and represent.
